I did. That's awful.
During the game broadcast last night, the Detroit announcer mentioned that Forbes had to go to Lansing for his sister's funeral the previous day. Anyone else hear this?
Wow. I don't recall hearing that, but I didn't get a chance to watch it properly, so I must have missed it. Does anyone know if it was a sudden thing? or was she sick?
That really sucks. Sorry to hear that.
That's a shame. I'm sure the Spurs will help out any way that they can. That's one of the benefits of being with a class organization. He's one of those young guys that you really pull for.
Terrible news. Thoughts go out to the Forbes family.
A young black girl in Lansing. I'll give you one guess.

Not sure if you're right about her being black, actually...and she had severe Lyme disease complications based on previous reports.
You could be a bit more specific to help the non-American users!
Then she went against the mean it would seem.
going*, re .
Urban murder among young blacks is an epidemic in America. That does not seem to be the case here.
Well, as of 2014, homicide rate for black female victims was 4.54 per 100,000, vs. overall female victim rate of 1.81 per 100,000, a multiple of 2.5. Not sure if that warrants a "I'll give you one guess" status... By comparison, among women lung cancer kills 35 per 100,000, breast cancer kills 20.7 per 100,000, etc...

Nope didn't... sad![]()
Or more along the lines of "Haters gonna hate".. "Spurtacular gonna re ".
You know, par for the course.
You're telling me if I researched it that I'd find lung cancer is killing young black females 8 to 1 over violence. Sounds like a wank off stat if I've ever heard one.
Per CDC data for 2014, among black females the top 5 causes of deaths are 1. Heart disease (23%), 2. malignant neoplasms (23%), 3. cerebrovascular diseases (6%), 4. Diabetes (5%). Homicides don't even make the top 10. Homicide becomes a factor once you break down by ages--but even then it's not the top reason. For age groups 5-14 years, homicide is less than 1%. For age group 15-19, the top reason is accident at 28%, followed by homicide at 5.6%. For age group 20-24, top reason is accident at 24%, followed by homicide at 15%. For age group 25-34, top reason is again accident at 17%, and homicide is 9%.
Now, these are aggregated numbers and don't correct explicitly for inner-city, but I think you can still see that to imply that murder is the most likely reason for a young urban black woman's death (which is what I think you implied, although I may have misunderstood your original comment--if so, my apologies) may not be as definitive as you seemed to make it sound...but, again, I apologize if I misunderstood.
We were talking about young black females, not all black females, dip .
Which is why I broke down by age groups as well...and homicide is still not the top reason for mortality. By the way, I'm sorry for being so off Spurs-topic on this. If you want to continue, we should probably take this offline? Apologies to the rest of the board readers.
Appreciate you being this polite toki9, a rarity.
And includes the suburban blacks and rarer country black, which are frankly vastly different from the urban black populous. I doubt you've spent much time if any in these dangerous neighborhoods. Because you're just obstinately in denial of reality.
swing and miss, per par
You're a bit jaded for a happy fellow, tbh.
predictably predictable... don't you have a Jimmer thread to update? chop, chop
