not crazy about his track record.

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The San Antonio Spurs have hired former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Chris Grant for a role as a team scout, league sources informed ESPN.
Grant, 44, has not held an NBA position since he was fired by the Cavs in February 2014. David Griffin, who at the time was the Cavs' vice president of basketball operations, stepped in as the acting general manager before securing the role permanently three months later.
Grant is responsible for the drafting of point guard Kyrie Irving and center Tristan Thompson with the Nos. 1 and 4 overall picks in the 2011 NBA draft. However, his draft record also includes selecting Anthony Bennett with the No. 1 pick in 2013 and a failed experiment with the acquisition of big man Andrew Bynum, who played only 24 games with the Cavs during the 2013-14 campaign.
not crazy about his track record.
A bunch of misses, Irving was obvious and I like Tristan, but he's no star and got paid thanks to playing next to Lebron. Cle was headed nowhere before Bron...FO wasn't doing anything to improve that team. Meh
Drafting Anthony Bennett #1
Thompson has become a decent player but Valaciunas was the obvious pick to make there and they would be a lot better with him.
Not sure if i like PATFO opening a rehabilitation department for toast NBA figures![]()
To be fair to him, that Anthony Bennett draft was terrible tbh. Class full of role players if I've ever seen one
Good GMs make their money on finding players in the second round.
Hence why I didn't like the Spurs trading a second for Black Ollie.
Fu*kwe're screwed
exactly what I came in here to type hahha. This isn't a good thing
When you got a class that bad, that's when you sucker someone into a trade for a big piece or for a top bench player and a future first round pick(knowing they are going right back to the lottery). There is no rule that you have to use your lottery pick haha. You're right, that draft was terrible, but Bennet though?
Looks like they also hired Pops Mensah Bonsu
