Jonathan Giles is the real deal. TTU's offensive coordinator Eric Morris predicted he would blow up during summer camp before anyone outside knew who he was.
Texas isn't going to cut ties with Charlie Strong to bring in a coach who had a NCAA show cause penalty due to his shady dealings with Willie Lyles.
If this team collects a few more W's and gets to 7-8 wins, while showing a positive trajectory towards the end of the season, my hope and belief is that Strong will be back.

Chip Kelly would be a fascinating hire for UT. I would have no idea what to expect.
It would be a fascinating hire that's never, ever going to happen.
I thought this tweet was interesting, but not because I think it's true.
Want both.
What does that mean?
If Strong can't right the ship, we need to start tossing bags of money in his bedroom window. Chip Kelly at Texas will be a scary thing for the rest of college football world.
Like the other guys said, it won't be an option.
Strong has been dying to get Hurtt here for years and nobody will clear it because of his previous show-cause.
And he's just a position coach.
