Bullet Bob Hayes always gets big props for being the first really speedy receiver, he changed the way defenses worked. No he wasn't the first really fast NFL wide receiver, that would Bob Boyd (have his rookie card) an NCAA 100m champ for Loyola, he was a Ram and had a 1000 season back in the 50's, long before Hayes showed up. The WR in the 100 yards was 9.3, Boyd ran a 9.5.


Robert Barrett Boyd (March 7, 1928 – May 14, 2009) was an American football end and wide receiver in the National Football League, playing for the Los Angeles Rams for eight seasons. His most spectacular season was in 1954, when he caught 53 passes for 1,212 yards and 6 touchdowns.

In an era when pro-wrestling began to change because of the popularity of television, Michele Leone became one of wrestling’s biggest stars of the time due to the new medium. In Southern California where he enjoyed the most success he was the most popular wrestler in the territory, even bigger than Gorgeous George, and in May of 1952 he would wrestle Lou Thesz in what was wrestling’s first ever first ever $100,000 gate.

That was the first really huge rasslin' event.

Now we need to see another James Lee Burke book/movie featuring his Louisiana detective....Dave Robicheaux.

Funny thing is in both Lee Childs Reacher novels and Burke's Robicheaux both authors know them blues. Old blues cats mentioned numerous times in both. And when I first got into them I had no idea that was the case.

I didn't realize just how cool Obama was until now, he is so damn classey compared to Trump and Clinton, both totally suck.

Highly recommend the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child. Here's this big bad x- miliary cop on the roam across the USA, yep, hitch hiking. All he carries with him is a tooth brush. When he gets tired of his clothes he hit's a thrift shop and buys something different, dumping his old ones. Great reads~~~~ (he gets a military pension, that's where his $$$$ comes from)

I also highly recommend the Dusty Fog novels by J.T.Edson. Fog a 5-6 cival war hero who just happens to be the fastest gun walking the earth, he runs around with Mark Counter a giant and the Ysabel Kid a master with a knife. Great reads, yep...western.

The huge procession of characters from book to book ensured that the first few pages of an Edson book always ended up looking alike, with descriptions of a small, insignificant looking Dusty Fog, who suddenly appeared to become a giant when villains he faced down felt the full force of his personality, the tall and Greek-god handsome Mark Counter, the baby faced but highly dangerous, black dressed, rifle and bowie knife toting Ysabel Kid, and various other characters.
