I think the only reason Simmons still has a spot is because PATFO still thinks he can be a playmaker which would be a huge value, but the fact is he has shown little in two years. Still TO prone, shaky dribbles, just a little more developed in a role.

As for Livio, I dunno. I would rather have Anthony. At least he's a rim protector with experience. LJC is almost unplayable right now with very low upside. How much better can he get? When can you use him? Is he only here because he did you a favor? If the last question is yes, than you cut him and let him have his money and you improve your team. I agree with you about Pop's hope, which is why it has been so shocking that he has been so selfish. That is why him using 28.5% of the possessions (to be more accurate and not exaggerate) is such a shocker. You really want to give that dude the ball? Then it really is over 2/1 in TO to assist ratio. I have been enamored with Laprovittola bc he gets the ball away from Simmons hands and gets others involved. Simmons has been that awful and bad as a playmaker and ballhandler. I don't know but he's been a ball stopper.

Anyways, they don't have much in wing depth and Pop has pimped Simmons up a lot, so even with all my criticism I think they keep him and no matter what I hope for the best for him, but he's going to have to scale back his own usage and look to play more team ball.

Edit: with Livio hard to say. He was drafted for some reasons and they have to evaluate where he has gone with what they wanted to see, but once he was drafted he was en led to that contract.

I agree. The question is when. They gave him an opportunity to clean things up. This may just be the limits of his talent right now.

Considering how Boston is basically throwing away one of RJ Hunger or James Young, Simmons is not tradeable by himself. He's likely going to be moved back in the rotation and from there he will have to use his opportunities wisely. It just so happens that with Danny's injury they can't spare wings right now. But Garino or someone else remains as a possible call up midseason if he's not working out.

Rumours spreading around that Laprovittola is heading to Europe, so I guess Forbes has a big chance of making the roster
Arci got waived (you probably know already) and will stay in Austin, I hope Garino does as well cause I like him and he might have a future on this team

Leprosy was probably not interested in being a 3rd string PG ala De Colo so I guess Forbes will be his Gary Neal.

I do think his time with the Spurs helped his stock. I think he could hang in the NBA. With him gone, it's now Bryn vs Joel.

Maybe he's heading back for a year then exploring a role with the Spurs again next summer. I think Garino will be in Austin this year.
