"even splitter sets better screens"... splitter's screen game was his biggest asset to the offense you dip
He sets some of the most useless screens I've ever seen in my 15+ years of following the NBA. He doesn't make ANY contact with the opposing player and rolls way too early. Even Splitter sets better screens. Really surprising as he's a decent rebounder and inside scorer and doesn't seem like the 'soft' type.
Basically, you're better off just isoing your defender from the perimeter than relying on a Dedmon screen.
EDIT: Never said Splitter was poor screener.

Since Splitter was the best screener this team has ever seen, I'm guessing that your 15 years of following the NBA were a waste of time.
Not disagreeing there. But Splitter wasn't known for his toughness.
I stopped reading at "even Splitter sets better screens". Yes, because when healthy he's one of the best pick and roll guys in the league. Try again
Dedmon needs to cut down on fouls but played great D and grabbed important boards. Everything you could hope for with that salary.
Damn. What a bad take.
Seriously. He was good out there on defense but his screens were terrible.
Dedmon sets great screens, don't know what you're watching.
thats like saying "even duncan had a better bank shot than him"
Nah, it was a good take. Dude's screens were .
Blocks and rebounds...That's all I have to say.....
You didn't get the point. It's surprising that Splitter was such a good screener as he kind of had a reputation for being soft. E.g. People on here would complain about him laying it up softly instead of dunking it. Dedmon's huge and sets some of the softest screens I've seen.
Just quit while you're behind.
lol calling your own take good
Nice take.
Sure did!![]()
We still doing this on ST?Thought it became a legit Spurs forum.
You saw that one bad screen for Parker at the end of the game and that was it huh lol. His screens are the least of my worries atm. I'm just glad he is able to be disruptive on defense against bigs and he's a good rebounder. He also showed that he is capable around the rim if you get him the ball on the roll. I was worried for a minute that he was scrub material when he had all those lackluster games in preseason. Turns out he's going to be serviceable.
You picked a bad night to start a Piss On Dedmon thread.
Edit: BTW - they're interviewing Dedmon right now in the postgame. He's a good interview, clearly smart, and says the right things.
If it was, we wouldn't have threads like this.
Make this dude pay the fee to continue posting on here please.
