I hate this lazy narrative that the Spurs get players that are scrubs on other teams and make them better solely because of the system. True, Pop and the staff maximizes players' talents but they were good to begin with. Take Barkley the other day. He said Mills bounced around several teams before he found a role with the Spurs. No one corrected him that he was only on one other team and he was in his early 20s when he left. It would just be nice for the players to get some credit other than just Pop and the system.
