Simmons gave a good postgame. Pop is clearly letting him stay on the floor and do his thang. I know some people have commented that Pop was gonna be pissed at him. But it sure looks like Pop knows exactly who/what Simmons is, and he's letting him go get it. He's going to make mistakes, but he's also going to give opponents' second-team defenses nightmares. If he can learn to start using that penetration to suck in defenders, and kick out to make teammates look good, he'll be dangerous.
I wasn't sure about Simmons' longetivity in this league but after three games I don't have much doubt. He's tightened his handles, is making better passes and decisions. I don't see him as more than a spot starter, if that, but he looks like he knows he belongs. He looks like a big threat off the bench especially when teams can't keep him out of the lane. He's a first class slasher.

Murray has potential but he's very very raw.Not saying he will be as good as Kobe but he kind of reminds me of Kobe during his rookie year from a physical stand point. He can drive and get to the hole but physically he just can't finish.
Reggie Jackson was pretty terrible during his rookie season despite playing for 3 years in college & not being 170lbs. As long as he puts in the work, Murray can develop like Reggie who wasn't asked to be a rotation player right away as he was playing for a contender.

If he adheres to the Kawhi regime of working on his jumper & pumping iron then he should be a more explosive version of Jamal Crawford which will put him in the Reggie Jackson tier of guards.

That's going to make it difficult to play Tony going forward.
Teams are going to give him the Tony Allen treatment if he can't hit WIDE open 3s or at least get into the paint playing 4-on-5.

Simmons had Jeff Ayres in the pre season, now he looks like Jordan.

    What a transition

Just seen the highlights. What is new and encouraging is the incredible number of weapons this roster has. Part of this comes with the will, expressed by Pop during the summer, to improve our athleticism...but other stuff is really unexpected...for example, just referred to this game and apart from Simmons obvious but already seen improvement, the fact that Lee is capable of running like a deer and catch that Lapro pass, or Deadmon able to take with ease the outside shot, or Lapro confidence running the offense. Looks also like ther's a good understanding on offense between Pau, Mills and Kiwi. Maybe I'm a little too optimist but, despite the fact that last year we won 67, I have to admit that this roster looks a lot more unpredictable for opposing teams...and if we are gonna improve and gain more confidence in time (as it should be) this team could be named the "pick your poison" team.

Man, it is so nice to see bench big men that can play bother ends of the court.. Lee has been surprising to see, he's not as weak defensively as imagined, and he has a nose for the ball and rebounding while being a good scorer and passer (similar to Diaw). Dedmon has shown amazing rim protection and awareness defensively, and has been very surprising on the offensive end especially tonight with those jumpers.

Sure Baynes had talent and even Boban showed flashes, and we've had many talented big men on the team such as West, and Diaw but they each had quite a few weaknesses which were obvious. So far our bench bigs have already meshed with the players and have shown no fear and weaknesses, which is a great sign for the team.

Just my opinion, thinking that if he rested his other 2 old players in the first game of a back to back he could rest his old big man tonight..

How about Sleepy Lapro? It must be his eyes and the facial hair, but he never looks completely awake.

Man, Garcia should not host a podcast, he is just not a good speaker. Thanks for posting though! He does know his Spurs.
