Then they put ice on that knee and he played more minutes. Surely it was nothing and Pop is being cautious about this back-to-back game.

What extended Duncan's career is that he stayed in shape during the off season and he never depended on athleticism. Resting a few games per season is not gonna give you 19/20 year longevity if you don't keep your body in shape. Plus duncan played thru 2 lockout seasons and only played in 1 olympics while turning down others. Popovich resting Duncan 6 or 7 games a season had VERY VERY little to do with his 19 year career . Think about it and get back with me.

Im sorry but Im gonna have to call BS on this one here, at his advanced age late in his career, he was one knee injury from hanging it up. In fact if you remember we had a major injury scare with him against a scrub team when a player rolled into his knee. So keeping him out of meaningless b2b's where fatigue is higher and risk for injury is greater may very well have prevented a career ending injury.
