I had mentioned this a while back, thing is even the Chilean press dismissed it because there was a deadline to complain and they didn't meet it, which just makes it stranger that they took the points anyway... Bolivia will appeal but likely this isn't going back, anyways it's more a help for Chile than a problem for Argentina
If AFA wasn't such a hole nowadays FIFA wouldn't care about this issue.
That can't be real. You can take thr pts away from Bolivia, but you can't give the pts to Chile just because. It's not serious. Is that official, why haven't I heard anything?

FIFA denied having taking pts away from Bolivia too. They are just analyzing the situation.
tbh. but tbh how can a national team even try to play a who already played for a NT. I mean everybody and their dog knows that if you played for one senior NT you are bound for life (bar asylum).
Actually you're allowed to switch once if you haven't played non-friendly matches with the first NT.

motta's 2 senior NT selections were for the amateur gold cup where brasil were guests, so these selections did not qualify for compe ive games thus he was allowed to change nations. Had he played a compe ive game he wouldn't have been able to switch.
so tbh I don't understand why FIFA is penalizing bolivia because that player only played a friendly for paraguay ... bull tbh.

hate naturalization. here in south america, its really only bolivia and paraguay that do it, even teams like chile or venezuela very seldom do it and people locally generally are opposed.
in europe however, all of the big power houses have been doing it since forever, I dont think a single italian WC champ DIDNT have argentine players on it. Dfens likes to harp on recent euro superiority, but when was the last time a european team won a WC without an african / south american born player on the roster? Off the top of my head, 1990
re: this scandal, since FIFA allowed the complaint past the deadline, now colombia, paraguay and venezuela are also accusing bolivia for another nationalized player, which would give venezuela +3 pts / bolivia - 3 and colombia and paraguay +2 goals each (because the verdict means a 3-0 result). it just gets more absurd, why bother having rules when you can make them up as you go along
