We always hear about how them blues came from the Mississippi Delta, Memphis, Texas. Actually the first blues on record were women singers with more jazz than blues bands. The first male to make a dent in them blues was banjo player.singer Papa Charley Jackson, he first recorded in 1924, which is before any blues cat from anywhere else was put on record. He was from Louisiana.
