He played well against Miami because they didn't game plan for him. Miami was more focused on Parker,Green,Duncan back then more so than Kawhi. That's why him going off in 2014 took Miami off guard. The problem now is you have teams like the Clippers that focus their defense on Kawhi. That's why it's much harder to win a championship being the number 1 options versus not being the number 1 option.

The difference b/w 2014 & the past two season is that the supporting cast aged overnight. The 2014 squad had one of the best supporting cast on a championship team but the past two seasons it's just been a two man show w/ Tim/Kawhi or Softridge/Kawhi.

The current Spurs are constructed like the 2-peat Lakers, Kirby shot 40% in the 2010 Finals but the Lakers won b/c MVPau showed up instead of choking like Softridge. Artest also bailed him out on a couple of occasions.
