This puts him on pace one of the best FT seasons ever in terms of number made and percentage.

We'll see if he keeps it up. His stroke isn't quite the sweet Bird like stroke. But that Klaw hand seems to be able to pinpoint the ball through the net with uncanny accuracy right now.

He's forcing up more shots when he sees contact. Which is both good and bad. He has mastered attempting a shot when defender extends hands into his space....which is good. He does seem to throw up shots when expecting contact which can lead to a bad selection sometimes.
His excellent free throw shooting compensates for bad shot selection. He's really come a long way since his rookie season.

What a dramatic improvement.. for a stretch there Saturday night, our offense consisted of dumping the ball into Kawhi and letting him get sent to the line for like 5 mins straight

I knew Kawhi would do something to upgrade his game over the offseason, because he always does. I never once thought it would be the Harden Update. Gotta admit though....it makes him a damn efficient scorer.

More impressive is the 9.0 FTA in 31.4 MPG

per 36 FTA is more than 10.0.

    That's very impressive.

It should especially come in handy in the PS; he may not draw as many but it gives definitely helps the Spurs especially if he were to have a bad shooting game, then again, he is shooting 50% FG from the floor so that shouldn't happen very often.

I want to see him make some clutch Steve Nash/Dirk Nowitzki type free throws in the 4th.

If my memory is correct, I don't think either were even in the 4th Q.

The Claw is now 10th in free throws made, and 3rd in FT%.

I said it in preseason - that is a HUGE addition to his game, and the full value really comes in the playoffs.

For a few games, it seemed like he was going backwards, and wasn't getting to the line as much. But then he exploded against Houston, LAC, and Portland three games in a row, and he's been putting up a lot of FT's since.

He's always been a good FT shooter, but being over 90% with as many as he's put up is a big enough sample size. He's legit become a great FT shooter.

All that doesn't happen by accident. He must have worked his ass off in the offseason. If he can do that, I don't doubt that he still has significant upside.

Yeah, this is nuts. Especially if you remember the old Spurs teams that shot like crap from the line. When the game was on the line, you knew one of them would probably clang? For Kawhi, this motivation must have from that missed free throw in that Heat game. We are really lucky fans.

There was a time when that comment would have had people here screaming like banshees. (Maybe still.) But I'll tip my hat to you. Kobe worked his ass off to be as good as he was. The great ones aren't great because of just raw talent.
