everybody was ting on him last season. I can remember Harlem ho and the like hoping the Lakers would sign him. he has looked fantastic to start the season
I will admit that I haven't been keeping up with the NBA as much as I used to, however I noticed this dude upped his scoring by 17ppg?
Its not as big a sample size as we would like, but it certainly isn't a game here and there sort of thing imo.
Today's ing NBA man..
everybody was ting on him last season. I can remember Harlem ho and the like hoping the Lakers would sign him. he has looked fantastic to start the season
Too early to tell..
Still, he's a pretty one dimeensional player. Doesnt create, as bad as harden defensively and zero spacing since his scores are either one or one or tough long twos...
Kobe in the threepeat days offered a more compe ive defensive play is clearly a better playmaker...its going to be hard to even call him a top 10 player even if he ends up scoring 28.
The issue is that once the playoff starts, he's going to be a net negative for his team..He's always been a negative..His style of play and his lack of production in other areas beside one on one scoring and Tick tacky fouls is always goong to hurt him.
For starters, the difference between him and George and butler for example is that both players can play compe ive D in the playoffs and provide a semblance of Playmaking. Butler is one of the most overrated defenders in the league but he still has more value than him in that end than Derozan.
Just check out last years playoffs..The scrubs basically carried Toronto despite Derozan and Lowry.
Toronto has a championship level Other players...their star players are just underwhelming.
Apo has it right. Got to wait until the playoffs. Until then, he's a regular season statpadder that disappears on the big stage.
at least November George plays defense, November Derozen will not only go back to shooting 38% in the playoffs, but he never played defense to start with. If he defies the odds and leads the Raps to the finals or something then you tip your hat.
Kevin in' Martin once led the league in scoring for a longer stretch than DeFrozen to start a season:
Jerry Stackhouse also once led the league in total points for an ENTIRE season:In 2007-08, Martin got off to a fast start to the NBA season, while in the first 15 games was the NBA's leading scorer with 29.6 PPG.
Had the highest point total, 2,380, for the 2000–01 NBA season, but was second in scoring average, 29.8.
Nick Young/Lou Williams & Rudy Gay are also ballin' out to start the season for all that means.![]()
Fluke. Not even worth the question. He may end up the reg season with a high ppg but the dude is irrelevant. He just plays inefficient, losing basketball. He will never be an important piece on a true contender. Next topic.
There is merit to this point. Though all of the above are talented players. Might be a coaching, and a players that want to prove suckas' wrong type thing
+ the three double days.
to be fair, everyone in the league seems to be better..
Agreed. Also, Dwayne Casey is a terrible offensive coach.
..that's the Participation Ribbon tact that state Media has readily adopted.
He's having that one Danny Granger season.
Derozan last 5 games
20.2 PPG
40.7% FG
0 30 point games
november ended early this year
Derozan could average 40 PPG on 60% shooting during the RS, but he would still choke in the playoffs, tbh..his style of play doesn't translate to the post-season, where they don't give you a whistle on every offensive flop(ask Harden)..
