Honestly, that new TV affects your life much more than your president would. So it's not a bad choice. I go back and forth whether voting should be compulsory or not. I definitely think it should be easier, but I also don't think it should be up to anyone else to drag voters to the polls.
I vote early in Texas. There's a supermarket right down the street from my job, and I just stop there after work, vote, pick up some produce for dinner and head home. It seems too easy to feel sorry for voters who can't do it. But when you have gerrymandering and going on, it's clear that the political system is more interesting in sustaining itself than doing its job.
