Left Knee Sprain for Dedmon. Thankfully it wasn't anything more severe but he'll prolly be out a few weeks at least. Miami.
He scored 16 in the fourth quarter, and a lot of that is on the Spurs defense. Green and Dedmon being out hurt, but that also tells you how bad the rest of the bench outside of Dedmon is defending.
But the game was close because the Spurs turned the ball over 17 times, and Miami had 14 steals. And the Spurs weren't coasting when they came out of the locker room - they just got outworked by the Heat in the second half, and they got curb-stomped in the paint.

The only two players with fewer rebounds than Aldridge were Danny and Kyle. Danny missed the entire second half, and Kyle only played 5 minutes.
Whoever does the game grades should figure that in.
He was great in the playoffs last year considering how much he struggled in the regular season, and looks great this year so far.
But he can't create his own shot, so while he's immense defensively I'm hoping to see more consistency in his shooting this season as he gets healthier which the Spurs will definitely need since that opens up so much for them.
Nothing new about his rebounding or lack thereof tonight. The guy is overrated on this board. A lot of people see him as this All-Star when the only thing he does at an All Star level is shoot the ball from 12-18 feet. He's average at best at everything else in the game.
Bruh, they have lost 3 at home already. Guess they were just coasting in those losses?
Eh, whenever he hits a three it really seems to get the team going. Doesn't matter if he can create that shot by himself or not, it has the same effect. , he nearly single handedly reversed how G1 in the 2014 Finals was going with his shooting.
It's not coasting when you do the same thing over and over. Look at LAC tonight. You can tell their is a focus there. A purpose. Spurs are just a basketball team (albeit a damn good one).
No, they just aren't a great team, at the moment..
However, from re-watching the game, it looks like they toyed with Miami in the 1st half and got whatever they wanted..the Heat only have 1, maybe 2 legit starters on their current, active roster..tough to keep energy and concentration high against that level of compe ion..
No good teams do what SA has done at home tbh..I'm talking about the chemistry. I'm talking about the lack of effort. You can't just quit, especially when you already have 3 losses and it's being talked about as an issue by the coach.
Good thing no one gives a right now.![]()
It's one thing to get outplayed by a good team. Getting outplayed by a team doesn't make it better. If they're not professional enough to keep enough energy and focus to put away a team with only 1 or 2 starters? You're right - they aren't a great team.
If they were gassed, you can work on conditioning. If they were missing wide open shots, you can make them work with Chip. But if guys don't want the W badly enough to focus for 48 minutes? And if they aren't thinking in terms of sending a message to the other teams in the league? Yeah, it's going to be a short post-season at best.
You sort of backed up what DPG said about not having leadership.
It's like regular work gots. I'm not going 100% all the time. The season just started.![]()
Someone that doesn't even know that. Low IQ vanilla fans.![]()
Not when there are hundreds of regular season attention threads to start. Who has time to give a about basketball?![]()
You're one of my fans.![]()
Are you concerned with lack of consistent penetration from guards moving forward?
Dedmon went out at the next stoppage of play. And while he was in and injured, he still contributed. It's easy to see in replays how bad the injury was. But seeing as he got up and got two rebounds immediately afterward, I can totally see Pop thinking it was cool to ride it out.
I should have known Amused started the goddamn Game Thread.
Do you WANT more Kyle Anderson? BECAUSE THIS IS HOW YOU GET MORE KYLE ANDERSON!!
Short-answer: Yes. Longer-answer: I still have some hope that TP can do enough of that when healthy. But there is zero margin for error there because of the lack of any other guard capable of making a pass let alone penetrate and draw defenders (Simmons is the only other one but he is so dicey with his ball handling).
It's a problem and the only hope is that TP has some juice left when healthy (which I think he may have just enough).
Idunno...he was obviously hobbling and favoring the knee on the plays immediately following. And he waved at the bench asking to be taken out when they came back down to the Spurs side of the court. I'm not sure whether Pop missed it or whether he was just letting it ride out, but Dedmon obviously wanted off the floor.
There were two or three possessions AFTER he waved at the bench to come out, one of which he was forced to stay in because he was the man for the jump-ball. The fact that he kept staying in plays and contributing instead if fouling to stop play was a mix of courage and stupidity.
"I am finding it hard to keep my own concentration and intensity for the whole game too... I miss things."
