I don't like it all. Yet another underpowered Nintendo console that is going to suck for 3rd party games. I'd rather pay $50 for a PS4 with Uncharted 4.
Looks fantastic to me. A portable affordable console is exactly what modern gaming consoles should be about, considering they're losing ground all the time to PCs. Thoughts?

Yeah looks already obsolete. It woulda been a ing hit 10 years ago.
Why is Nintendo so obsessed with gimmicky bull ?
Man that commercial, are they only targeting hipsters who sent $250 to the Hillary Clinton campaign? Also esports are ing gay, even MMA looks hetero in comparison.
Crappppppp
Nintendo = The New SEGA
This will be Nintendo's final attempt at making a console before they focus on being a publisher and cell phone game maker
Nice, I always wanted to play CS:GO on a 6 inch screen.
I am probably definitely in the minority, as I have little interest in third party les, but I may pick this up if my daughter is at all interested.
Because they can't compete with any of the other platforms at this point.
Is anybody really asking for a portable console/gaming system at this point though? Your ADHD is so bad that your smart phone, tablet, and laptop can't keep you occupied for a few minutes?
I think there's still a market for portable consoles/games. Great for trips or playing in bed.
But looking forward, if driverless cars become prevalent, I think there would definitely be greater demand for portable.
PS4 and X1 are underpowered too, so I don't see what the big deal is. No console can begin to compete with PCs, so why try?
The consoles are a lot cheaper than gaming pcs that can do 1080p at 60 fps though. If you want a 1080p60 gaming system you need to drop $200 on the CPU, $200 on the GPU, $50 on the board, $50 on the RAM, $40 on the power supply, $40 on the case, $50 on the hard drive, $20 on the mouse and keyboard, and $40 on a good controller. You can't expect a $300 console to beat a $700 pc. But the Switch is only $50 cheaper than a PS4, and the hybrid CPU/GPU in it is supposed to only be around the level of PS3/XBox360. So third party games are going to play like on it just like they did on Wii U and Wii.
giving money to any sort of tech from an indiegogo campaign. you might as well invest your entire life savings into amway and mary kay.
that being said, Nintendo's main point is it's difference from PS/Xbox, which is basically just a device for people who are from povertyball countries. Nintendo easily has the best 1st party games which you can't play anywhere else; who gives a about 3rd party games that you can play on the PC. if you're looking to buy yet another fps game or a gy adventure game masquerading as an FPS, nintendo isn't gonna have that.
I'll tell you who won't like this...DMC.
You're gonna need slimmer fingers to play this .![]()
I could see myself buying this as an alternative to a gaming laptop. Much less cost invested and more portable. I would use it mainly for road trips and vacations, or when I head over to a friends and want to be able to game easily.
Actually the newer i3s can handle 1080/60 gaming for most games. With some deals you could get the price down to ~$500ish for a PC, and they are obviously more versatile than console. But I like the Switch, because it's doing something that other consoles are not doing. If I want to game at home, I don't want to do it on an underpowered console when I have my computer sitting right there.
True.. This is an extremely niche market they are appealing to IMO
I wrote a poem about it:
Nintendo Switch
Your mom's a
Stuck it in her booty
and she made me get hitched
Nintendo Switch
I got's the twitch
Dunked a basketball
Your mom's a
That's all I have right now.
I just thought of another verse
Nintendo Switch
Lilo and S ch
Booble booble boo
Digging a ditch
There's still a huge market for handheld consoles in Japan, and Nintendo is run by a bunch of dinosaurs who only care about the Japanese market. Hence, the Switch.
Lol this thing looks so ghey
Makes sense, I guess.
I just can't imagine this appealing to anyone over 10. I also can't imagine anybody under 10 not breaking it.
at having grown men acting in their commercial
I have been thinking of getting that Nintendo NES classic mini edition though. 60 bucks for a handful of games is not bad.
I want to play Castlevania.
Why pay for that ? Use an emulator like Nestopia for free.

The NES classic is terrible considering how short the cables are for the controllers.
