Hopefully Brewster will be coming back, and that would go a long way towards signing Big Marv.
Herman won't be a bust. He won a lot of games with a receiver playing QB. Give him the resources at Texas and watch out.

OB is reporting this morning Brewster is almost a guarantee to be back, if Herman is hired!

Yes it is. Strong has recruited well but just not coached well. Definitely a situation where Herman can come in and win 9 to 10 games right away.
Yeah, it really is. The team has talent that is young and now more experienced. There is not excuse for next season for whoever is coach to not having a winning year at minimum.

Depends on attrition. Lot of guys were very committed to Charlie Strong and might want to leave now that he is gone. Charlie recruited well enough to win 10 games this season. It was young but it was talented. Next year Texas will be extremely deep at Oline, WR and have a talented experienced QB. We will be thin at RB.
Our Defense will be really deep and talented at every position. I'm concerned about our corners they are the group that stand the biggest chance of being lost through attrition. If we keep them they are damn good and really deep.
Will be interesting to see what happens moving forward.

With no real coaching search, lets hope this is the right move.
Just so you know we have followed history to a tee.
Fired very successful coach Fred Akers after first losing season. Fred coached Texas to two national le games. Very similar to how we fired Mack Brown.
Hired David McWilliams a defensive wiz with only one year of head coaching experience. Very similar to how we hired Charlie Strong, another defensive wizard with little head coaching experience. Neither was done with much of a coaching search.
Hired John Mackovic an offensive wizard with almost no true coaching search. About to hire Tom Herman, an offensive wizard with almost no head coaching search.
Time will tell if we get burned again.
If Warren is healthy and back to where he was, there wont be any problems with RB. Not sure what Foreman does.
I don't see there being any more attrition than you would expect in the end.
The important thing with Herman is this. He is a fit for the big 12, unlike Strong. Herman also can recruit Houston well and the Golden Triangle. He will put an all star staff around him. I know it's not the same, but think of the effect of Saban taking over at Alabama. It's akin to that.
