Night of the long knives? Surely the clinton pizza gate cabal won't get off so easily, along with all the other traitors in our establishment. Trump strikes me as extremely vengeful and has made numerous references to 9/11 and going so far to say he wants to investigate it, which may explain his hatred for the bush family. He also knows about the Clintons and the Epstein business, banning Epstein from mar a lago long before he was ever charged with a crime.

They'll shut down the internet before pizzagate gets fully exposed. If it's true.

Trump isn't purging the right wing and establishment Republicans, he's too busy appointing them to his own administration.

Trump is going to fill the cabinet with workers (I think) and surround himself with people far more capable than him of making rational decisions regarding world policy, and he's going to cruise through 4 years. I don't see him shaking things up too much, maybe just a little.

Depend on the terms of the deal. How many of your tax dollars are you willing to give away to keep those jobs in Indianapolis?

What are those jobs worth going way into the future - not counting the emotional satisfaction/health that comes from providing for one's self and family - cost for ACA/Medicaid, food stamps, unemployment benefits, possible loss of tax revenue (property, sales, income), etc? Or it's possible that the deal is partly from the state of Indiana (Pence). Or maybe it's a deal with Carrier's parent company which deals with defense contracts - both of which would limit involvement of my tax dollars.

What, you mean like Obamacare? As far as we know now, the losers seem to be the Mexicans who would have had those jobs.

    I never supported Obamacare, btw.

I don't think the USG (or the USG in waiting) should dictate business plans either, regardless of who benefits.

Hasn't the USG been affecting that with their trade deals and/or tax codes?

Seems it would be prudent to quantify both costs and make and informed decision based on the actual data.

Again, we need to know the terms of the deal.

This carrier deal seems a PR stunt to me tbh.

It's a PR stunt, has nothing to do with 1000 jobs, about which Trash doesn't GAF.

Let's see how many jobs Trash "brings back" in the next 4 years.

(probably) spending taxpayer (probably blue state) $Ms to save redstate jobs that hadn't "left" yet is much easier than repatriating "gone" jobs.

    ===========

“The move is intended to address the challenges we continue to face in a rapidly changing HVAC industry, with the continued migration of the HVAC industry to Mexico, including our suppliers and compe ors, and ongoing cost and pricing pressures driven, in part, by new regulatory requirements.”

Earlier this month, another Indianapolis company, Rexnord Bearings, announced they were also pulling business out of the state and moving hundreds of jobs to Mexico.

According to United Steel Workers Union President Chuck Jones, the manufacturing company cited the wage difference as the reason they are moving.

In Indianapolis, workers were making $25 per hour, plus benefits.

The workers in Mexico will be making $2.50-$3 per hour, plus benefits.

The move is tentatively set to begin in April and be done by June 2017."

All y'all's venerated BigCorp and its capitalists pushed globalization in the 70s, 80s, to pit US workers against foreign workers, knowing that US workers would always lose out and the capitalists would make out.

In all likelihood (in this case), it's a red state (Indiana) that's involved - not any blue state.

And wasn't it Clinton who signed NAFTA?

Man, some just have to find something to complain about. Can't we just be happy for these 1000 people (with what we know now)?
