That's why the government has to prop them up with postal subsidies, public/legal notices, forced subscriber fees for cable news, hefty tax breaks at both the federal and state level, etc. This is a big reason why newsrooms around the nation are so liberal. If the size and scope of our government shrinks and their welfare checks dry up, they're screwed.
I don't look at it in those terms, good vs bad. It's either true or it's not true. If it's presented as fact but it's not, then it's no good. If presented as speculation, it's not really news. Opinions aren't news.
