Very desperate of Houston to take a chance on Briles. Sounds like they are willing to make a deal with the devil to remain successful.
McMurphy from ESPN reporting Art Briles will be one of five candidates interviewing for the Houston job.

Geez I know it's early but I love Herman's train of thought early on. He's capitalizing on advantages that have been there for the taking all along. I like that he forced the big wigs to allow him to compete with the big boys as far as having strong support staffs. I think as everyone has mentioned he pays great attention to detail and that will go a long way in improving the football program as a whole.
No argument from me, this guy knows what it takes to succeed and is doing it. As of right now, he has a A+ in my book.
They corrected it and said it's an unofficial.
Filiaga won't stay overnight.
24/7 reporting Stan Drayton from the Chicago Bears' staff is still the #1 option to be the new RBs coach.
The contingency plan seems to be Louis Ayeni from Iowa State.
Whether UT hires Drayton or Ayeni, Coach Meekins will take over the TE position.

Per 24/7, UT coaches will see 2018 WR Josh Moore and 2018 S Jordan Moore of Yoakum on Monday.
Inside Texas saying the new staff has reached out to DE Earnest Brown of Denton Ryan, but he's going to stick with his Northwestern commitment.
He has family in the Midwest.
FYI Cedar Hill lost to DeSoto earlier this evening in the quarterfinals.
If Joey McGuire is going to join Herman's staff, we should probably know something this week.
Date to keep in mind if any other Houston assistants join the staff.
Applewhite and/or Orlando should be in Austin shortly after the bowl if they're being hired.
Not bad since that is during the silent period. That means the staff can come out firing when it ends.
