It was literally the same , from a dumbass fan throwing something onto the field of play to the players going into the stands to beat up fans. Some of the players got suspended, but nobody's even came close to Artest's 55 games, SJax's 30 or Jermaine's 25. The Bruins literally tried to sue the NHL for suspending their players and publicly stated that they were proud of what they did. Could you imagine the reaction if the Pacers or Pistons had done that after Malice?
NHL is the only one with actual fights though... nba "fights" are usually just a bunch of really big dudes shoving each other. mlb fights are gay. its just a swarm of people

As for hockey, no one cares about hockey so it wasn't news. If an MLB team went into the stands to brawl you can be damn sure there'd be fallout over that beatdown. After all look how much flak MLB got for PEDs when NBA and NFL players clearly juice and it's not even a blip on the radar.
