I agree and I have a Republican buddy that does as well he hated living in California for the same reason ...he lives in Mckinney now ...funny that we both ended up near Dallas...but at least his counts now ...but I still vote regardless...
Pretty much this. It was interesting where I live in CA that the County went Blue. It was the first time in 80 years that happened (Orange County). There are, however, still pockets that are staunch Republican. To me, this whole 2 party system is a sham, but still it is his prerogative to stay wherever.
His vote still doesn't count for presidency, same way mine doesn't in Texas (and also didn't when in lived in CA). Actually, none of my votes counted except for local elections since I live in a safe Democrat federal district and safe Republican state district (the federal distirct is insanely gerraymandered).
