Of course Blake hits everything vs us but plays like against the Warriors.

I know Spurs did amazing opening day, but I can't see them holding the Warriors to a shooting night like opening day again. This stupid Warriors team is good
The Dubs shot fine against the Spurs tbh; they can replicate the same outcome on defense. Question is can they get enough offense to win. It took 35 from Kawhi, 26 from LMA, and 17 from Simmons in the meat of the game to win.

They had a meltdown last season after blowing leads to the Duds, they have an inferiority complex thus treat every game against the Duds as Gm 7 of the Finals.
on paper, they might have the best tools in the league to matchup with the Warriors; but they play scared less against them..

God dammit, Clippers. You match up with the Spurs but not the Warriors? So what good are you except a thorn in our side? you.

You have no choice but to run against GS, you can't play defense with the ball in your hands and make life easy for them on D. You have to run but be smart about it, you can't be turning the ball over when you have a 3 on 2 advantage on the break like the Clippers are doing.
Cripples have been the best half-court offense in the league other than the Cavs, they can't all of a sudden play 7 seconds or less as if they are the Rockets & expect to beat an elite team.

Man, the Clippers always look spooked when playing the Warriors. Always have all the confidence in the world when going up against us.

If GS controls the pace they win 99% of the time; you can't beat them at their own game. Slow it down, pound them inside, and don't turn the ball over. They've lost all their games the past few years in that fashion (except against the Rockets who actually managed to outshoot them).

To beat the Duds it requires mental toughness b/c they will make you pay for every mental lapse & they will make shots even if you defend them on a string for 23 seconds. The Cripples happen to be the most mentally fragile team in the league. A less talented team like the Rockets are a good matchup b/c they don't give a about what happened on the previous possession & keep playing their game.

No, 7 seconds or less no. But if the chance presents itself they have to run. And they have to play at their normal pace on halfcourt sets, trying to slow the game down more than usual will only get them out of their rythm. Think of what the Spurs used to do with the Suns in the mid 00's.

Cavs beat them last season gunning with them. I'm not saying you should try to force the pace, I'm saying that if the opportunity is there to run you have to take it. And when the halfcourt offense sets in, you have to play at your normal pace, you can't be playing defense with the ball 'cause you are not going to score against them that way.

Great take Robz4000, and Simmons was massive opening day. I just recall the Warriors missing a LOT of wide open shots in that game, but I'm probably knee jerking to the Warriors performances over the past week and the Spurs iffy defense on their own end

Cavs beat them due to a variety of factors tbh, not really from matching pace with them. I agree on the rest though, but you can't let the Warriors go on one of their 15-points-in-2-mins runs or the game is basically over.

Warriors/Rockets was an absolute thriller, but I don't consider Rockets top level.

Durant shot >60% that game, and while Curry was 3/10 from 3 he still had over 20 points and had like 8 assists; on top of that he usually is contained by the Spurs. Raymond nearly had a triple double as well. Only one who struggled more than usual is Thompson, but similar to Curry they can usually contain him. What really hurt the Spurs against them previously was how much their depth outplayed the Spurs', but now they don't have that depth. Still give the Dubs the edge in a series, but unlike the Cliplers I can see several scenarios where the Spurs beat them in a series.

Its 14 right now. If they can get this to single digits in the 4th...everyone's ass will be tight enough so by then its going to be close.

    Hoping...

I actually think the Spurs are better equipped to beat the Warriors as oppose to last year. Mostly because we have a lot more size (and TD was injured last season) and the Warriors lost a lot of size. I just think it's going to be awfully tough to beat them 4 times out of seven, but the Spurs ceiling for improvement is much greater than the Warriors right now, so there's that.

Trade/buyout market is gonna be huge for both teams this year.
