No, this team, as presently constructed, isn’t a sure 2nd round exit waiting to happen, they are a sneaky potential 1st round fodder against the wrong matchup.

With their hideously predictable offense added to a major slippage on defense, they could really be run out of the playoffs by a hot team in a 3rd-6th seed series: Pringles getting his revenge as the latest coach to embarrassingly usher out Popovich in the postseason? I have seen worse outcoaching of the Genius (rookie Donovan/Avery)..

Mock “det Jazz core” all you want, but they have a better net rating than us as a 7th seed despite getting decimated by injuries (their actual starting five have played a measly 12 minutes together all season)..

Guests making a midseason trade for rim protector (Bogut?) and Dame/CJ going HAM on us and Softridge?

In reality, there is danger lurking below that we simply need to make a move--marginal or big- to avert catastrophe...

There are only 10 options in the poll, so I excluded Kawhi (current franchise player) and Manu/Tony (loyalty reasons) from it; they have zero chance to get moved..

In a potential trade, I don't think the team will relinquish the following combos (Aldridge/Gasol), (Dedmon/Lee), (Mills/Green); only one of the two players included would be part of a transaction..

I wouldn't be shocked if internally PATFO are more ready to trade Mills/Green than Adridge/Gasol..

I wish they would do something bigger, but barring Pop personally souring on LA/Pau, I think Anderson/Forbes are two players most likely to get dealt/waived..

Pop is out there ing about not being able to use the entire playbook b/c of all the new players so I don't see them moving Patty unless they get a starting PG in return. Pau is the newbie that gets the most touches so moving him shouldn't be much of an issue as far as "corporate knowledge".

Danny has a reasonable contract so he's probably only getting moved for a blockbuster trade involving Softridge who seems to have gotten on Pop's nerves ala Jefferson.

The "he's getting into shape" comment was first sign Pop is starting to get enough of his act..hope this lead to its logical conclusion..

I'm just glad folks aren't getting drunk on a fools gold record and gaudy point differential like last season ..The teams fatal flaws are all there for anyone (front office/ fans) to see virtually in every game....

Would hate for any of these New players to get traded Bertans and Dedmon considering their upside and contract. These two s have litterally won the spurs Multiple games.

Pop already pulling his pathetic it-is-unfair-for-a-productive-rookie act with Bertans...you know he is getting trotted out when we are down 1-3 vs the Clippers or GSW

It depends on if LMA turns it around in these next 2 months or so IMO. January is when he got it going last year, and if he starts performing at a high enough level, it'd make his very underwhelming start easy to forget. Otherwise, I'd have to think they consider it fair game.

With Pau, I mean maybe at worst case Pop starts Dedmon (if he can clean up his fouling issue), but having a guy like Pau off the bench isn't necessarily a bad thing. Especially with him hitting the 3 ball, he'd actually get some good looks with that 2nd unit.

I think LMA is the odd guy out honestly, IF they decide to make a move, and he doesn't start performing better.

Realistically right now, this team has the 2nd best record in the league, is 2nd in the West and still trying to build chemistry...

With that in mind, I don't see any moves. Improvement will have to come internally.

Forbes sucks. He is a zero every ing time he steps on the floor. I didn't even expect the Spurs to give him a contract over garino. Garino could have played defense here.

Agreed, spurs already picked up a 3pt threat in bertans. Forbes just seems kind of redudant at his size.

No. Mills is the 6th man that has really been carrying the bench and has carried the team to wins, together with Kawhi... if he's moved they may just as well call this season forfeit and just do a real overhaul, getting rid of the real dead weight.

If they trade anyone is one of Lamarcus or Gasol, and I really think they stand pat unfortunately.

The guys on the edge of the rotation are on very cheap deals and are worth their contracts relative to their ages, role and production. They won't net a contributor and should not be moved.

Unfortunately the loyalty contracts hamstrung the Spurs.

This really, we don't need any new players. Build with what you have and if that doesn't work, go for a big free agent this summer.

Love the optimism, but wins will inevitably regress to the mean if they keep up the garbage type of play and pedestrian point differential.

Record doesnt tell the true story and even Pop mentioned how they havent played well at all for almost 10 games or a month now.

People like Shaq & Barkley, who dont watch the games, just look at records and standings so those people will obviously have a more positive outlook.

I'm not actually optimist about the outlook of this roster, tbh, but then again, I've said since last season some of this would happen once Tim retires.

That said, PATFO is not the kind to panic, and I just get the feeling those rosy numbers will play a part in their decision making, even more so when you consider a bunch of factors like: this roster having a lot of new faces, the fact that we lost our defensive anchor, Danny missing a bunch of games early in the season, LMA being out of shape, Tony being hurt multiple times...

They're also in a difficult position where the only assets they might be willing to trade are relatively important to the team (Green, Mills)... thus what I concluded.

I'm going no one, mainly because the Spurs are notoriously adverse to in season moves, let alone significant ones . . . but I do think there's an outside chance the Aldridge situation reaches the boiling point.

They'll probably only even consider it if his representative(s) come to them, but it's obvious Pop's frustration is mounting. From the crediting Leonard after not missing a preseason game to attend his jersey retirement at U of SD (after Aldridge had just done the opposite at U of T), to the "he's getting in shape" dig recently, to the constant references to softness, fiber and grunt.

Neither side seems happy with each other and it increasingly appears headed for a mutual parting of ways in the off season.
