The amount of rest is ridiculous, but perhaps Pop is using these built in game rest days for extra sessions ... anything from conditioning / strength training which we all know he needs to shooting sessions to extra burn in practices.

Given how little time the NBA schedule affords for this, the coaching staff may be building some of this in for the healthy players. Don't assume that "rest" means they're sitting around doing nothing.

Never seen a coach who believes in handicaps as much as Pop.
That's so true, sometimes I think he takes it too far but man I love the fact that he does treat the entire reg season as a training cam for the playoffs and he does that while having the second best record behind only the Warriors who are historically good.

LMA gets,to pool his energy to be showcased against Phoenix. I don't really believe that but not completely impossible. More likely he's hurt. .
that's actually an interesting theory man

Some of you are so dense.

LMA missed practice yesterday for "rest", and is missing tonight's game for "rest"?

What do you think he is doing...taking a ing nap in the locker room?

Seems pretty obvious to me that he has some sort of nagging injury that they are trying to let heal, which could also explain his sub-par play over the past couple weeks.

    Read between the lines, people.

Either he's injured or spurs are looking at offers. 99% sure it's probably a nagging injury Pop is letting him rest thru, but Spurs don't normally bs when it comes to injuries, like Tony's sore ass cheek, so who knows. Probably not a big deal though

If it's an injury, why keep it behind closed doors? To not lower his value in case of a possible trade?

    And the plot thickens...

If it's rest he'll play tomorrow, big freaking deal.
So, the solution is to rest him against a playoff team but play him against a non-playoff team?

Kawhi better get 30+ tonight or at least get the ball fed to him early and often, tbh.

    That's a great quote.

It's what I say to my guys in my studio. You can't play this game if you're weak. This is a business of "No". Everyone will find something to hate about your work. Even after the "Yes". Just ing leather-up and do this damn thing, or don't waste our time.

It wouldn't be as bad but since LMA missed a practice too you almost have to,assume injury.
makes too much sense, let us all talk about how we're smarter than the coaching staff

Pop said if you don't do your job, you don't get to play!
First thing I thought of when I read it, but someone said he missed practice. Fatty feeling that weight on his knees, Prally. Hopefully it isn't anything to give much thought on.

"I thought we showed no heart, no respect for the other team. The other team deserved to win"

Pop's backhanded compliment of the other team, "even while I sit stars, and we play like , we still beat you".

Pop has never cared about the opponent before, I don't see it changing tonight. Who knows maybe he has plans to sit Kawhi tomorrow.

I actually think it might Force them to play a little better knowing they'll be undermanned. They can sure use the boost against a real team at home
