Dropped 4 dimes tonight..
Bertans has lot of sneaky good things to his game other than shooting that I was not aware on until I watched him up close..
He robbed Tony of two first half assists. Matty Bertans has to knock those down.

Only 3 minutes vs Phoenix.
What up with that, anybody got the scoop?
He's the 5ht big and probably situational... the bench bigs are playing well and Lamarcus wasn't rested (or any of the other bigs).
Seeing how Anderson does. They're playing for the same spot.
That is incorrect bc Pop has played Bertans exclusively as a stretch 4. He has a clear niche and been very good at it. To play him you have to sit one of your other 2 PF (Lamarcus or Lee, one is a star and lee has played well).
Anderson was demoted to the 6th big in case of an emergency really. He has been a wing for probably 95% of the time this season and it is the spot he played in all the last few games. I wouldn't say they are playing for the same spot at all.
The last two games I've seen them taking similar places in the rotation. Their games are different but he's trying them in the same rotation spot.
Ok you see what you see... and this is leading nowhere.
Anderson has not played the 4 almost at all, except for one Dallas game Pop chose to sit guys and he did that on purpose (I suppose to test them both...)
Other than that Bertans has played every time there are minutes at the 4.
If you want him to play you have to sit Lee or LMA.. I don't think you are watching these games dude.
----
I will correct in case this comes up....
Strict garbage time.. strictly in garbage time, Pop slides guys all over like having Bertans at the 5 and Kyle at the 4... those lineups are not viable for a regular rotation and I would not count those minutes at all.
Dude, I don't care if they play different styles. That's not the point. I'm saying their spots in the rotation are the same. When one plays the other doesn't.
I disagree bc they don't play the same spots as I mentioned above.
But it doesn't matter.
You still need to sit one of the other bigs to play Bertans or one of the wings to play Anderson. Pop may not want to sit voluntarily for his rest patterns both a rotation big and wing at the same time. But the bulk of either guy's minutes have been wing injuries (Danny, Manu-rest) or big injuries (Dedmon knee, Lamarcus soreness). Since neither guy is guaranteed to play you may infer things just bc Pop is not resting Manu and Lamarcus at the same time but that probably has to do with how his veterans are feeling/whether they have issues or not. There have been games where it was unavoidable for both KA and Davis to play bc both Danny or Manu and some big had injuries for example. Kyle didn't start the season too well either and Bertans needed a few games to get confident.
You infer too much IMO.
Like Giannis of the second unit but with a beautiful 3 stroke.![]()
no reason at all he shouldn't play more minutes if Manu or Simmons is struggling. Zero.
Forget the Bonner comparisons, I want a new Dirk. (Okay, a little ambitious...
)
Bertans is a guy that is such an impact player you find minutes for him, period.
I think Pop has had him the in dog house long enough over the ejection incident. Stupid pop.
Davis postgame http://www.nba.com/spurs/video/teams...1.7.17-1104809
And way tougher character and mentality.
No ones mess with Davis![]()

Dude's a real dork; but whatever.
Always liked Bertrans.
100% accurate version of Davis.
He's not just a tough and talented player, after this tweet, we know he's a nice guy, too.
Well, done Davis.![]()
