    Story of the game:

Clippers are Spurs’ daddies but without Blake, and given their current slump and our current success, I think it was fair to say that a flawed Spurs team were the favourites coming into this. However, this game was no different than their last, although not as embarrassing, the lackluster effort shown by the highest paid player in the team, the domination by their bench against ours and our starters, Pop being Austin Rivers’ older brother, were still clear as day.

    Kawhi Leonard: C
He had 24 9 5. The stat line may be nice and he may have been the only bright spot this game, but he was still pretty underwhelming at some points. His shot was just off. And he wasn’t able to take advantage of Austin rivers guarding him in the 4th. He had some nice assists though, and missed assists due to his teammates missing open shots but overall, I just can’t grade him any higher. This was far from a decent Kawhi outing.

    Lamarsha Softdridge: F
What’s wrong with this guy? I don’t know. He’s been pretty for more than the first quarter of the season. He looked like he was off to a great game but that offensive foul changed his momentum. However, its pretty inexcusable for the kind of performance that he had. 10 pts shooting 5-13 against a blakeless clippers? This er is so ing soft, he makes Tiago look like Shaq.

    Pau Gasoft: D
Kind of a tale of two halves in regards of his offence and overall effort. It felt like he was more engaged in the 2nd half. However, his defense was all throughout the game. Can’t put all the blame on him since the Spurs switch everything despite not having the tools and players to do so.

    Danny Green: D+
He was alright on offence, 2/5 from threes with 8 points. However, he got burned by re and paul when they had the chance. I felt like he was the least of our problems but he didn’t do anything to garner a higher grade in my opinion. Definitely wasn’t an average Green performance thus the low grade.

    Oinky Porkguard: F
The team’s reliance on him and Manu will kill us throughout the regular season and in the playoffs. Parker was 1-8 in the field, and his net loss on defense was somewhat hidden by the fact that he was put on the opposing teams’ worst player like Pierce, Mbah, or Johnson. I’m mad about him taking those shots but at the end of the day, the purpose of basketball is shooting open ones, what made me really tilt was the fact that he was missing everything. How can a starting point guard not convert an open look, not take of an advantage when a big is put on him, a liability on defense be relied on this much by a supposed to be contender?

    Simmons: D
2/10 from the field. He was either missing open looks, or passing up open ones. He also had 3 turnovers and some boneheaded plays, in that regard he is kind of like Manu. Lol no. Simmons was bad and I think it’s pretty apparent that he won’t be ready in the playoffs for the role that Pop wants to give him.

    Patty Mils: D
Pretty much non-existent because of 1. foul trouble and 2. he just didn’t have any looks when he was playing. First game of the season where I didn’t really feel his impact. Pretty much a bad game from our 6th man. The reason our record is what it is is mainly because of Kawhi, Patty and the bench. When Patty doesn’t put up an average performance, we are ed.

    David Lee: C+
David Lee has been a bright spot this season, and he was in this game as well. When he played, he showed the aggressiveness, composure, and smarts that his counterpart has not shown this year. He was making plays, making shots, and overall being a decent bench player.

    Kyle Anderson: C+
Kyle actually played like an NBA player this game. He made some plays which some of our guys couldn’t convert, he had some hustle 3 rebounds 2 steals and 1 block. However, his limitations still keeps him from being a legitimate threat in the eyes of the other team.

    Dewayne Dedmon: C+
Like, Lee, he played his part/role this game. Typical back-up C stat-line and game from him. I am very contented with what him and Lee bring to the team. One can argue that the 2 are playing better than their starting counterparts.

    Dejounte Murray: INC
I mean he showed what he has already shown, raw quickness and overall being a quite “explosive” youngster. Didn’t really matter much.

    Poop: F

    Seriously. Where do I start?

    1. Chose to Sit Manu.
    2. Didn’t play Bretons when it was clear we needed an offensive spark.
    3. Getting owned by Doc Rivers.
    4. Not subbing in Mills for Parker even when it was past the mid of the third quarter.
    5. Not playing our bench bigs more.
    6. Letting Parker get his shots.
    7. hack a jordan
    8. Seemingly not giving a like per usual since 2014.

I just don’t get Pop anymore. It’s pretty hard to gauge a guy who has openly said that winning a championship isn’t his main goal anymore, and it doesn’t help that his actions don’t contradict that pussy-ass statement. I just miss the old Pop, we need the guy but it seems like he has really deserted us after 5.

    Overall

We know 2 things. First is that the Spurs don’t match up with the Clippers well so let’s just hope we cling to the 2nd seed and they fall to the 4th.And 2nd is that this team is too flawed currently.

    On to the next.

the spurs can try to hide parker on defense. he will be exposed.
tony's "defense" is only going to get worse.

After he called a timeout in the first quarter I thought that he would sit Pau and put Dedmon but not...Pop is ting the bad very often this season.

For the record, Kawhi had 27-9-5.

I can't get behind LMA (or anyone else on the team) getting the same grade as that fat piece of Pop continues to trot out at PG.

Meh. At some point you have to take off those glasses and accept that he’s been ting the bed. Granted he has 2/3 of the season to turn it around but I don’t get where you are coming from defending this 20 million piece of

I've never said he hasn't underperformed so far. I just haven't ruled out the possibility that he turns it around like the rest of ST has.

As far as today goes...LMA wasn't great, but he also wasn't on Enrique's level of suckage.

He was when you take into consideration the expectation from each player. Else, Kawhi would get an A every night just due to the fact that his supporting cast sucks

LMA was pretty damn awful tonight tbh; just about as bad as Porker. Difference is we've basically come to accept Porker's ty play while we're banking our dwindling le hopes/franchise's future on LMA. Even if he turns it around like last season we know how soft he is and pairing him next to another softie in Gasol seems to make the whole team softer as a whole.

I've been sayin it, tbh... kids just too shady though. At least Kyle showed a thing or two, I thought... not sure if enough.

We might just have to enjoy Manu's retirement tour this season, tbh... the way the rest of the league looks, we might just only need a couple of breaks...

Yeah, Robz sums up what I wanted to say You can see last year how Timmy was emotionally supporting Aldridge tbh. This guy is so beta when noone holds his hand.

I still maintain my stance that we have a chance albeit a very small one this season. But when your flaws are too obvious to the casual fan then how much more in the eyes of lebron and the gay guys in the bay.

I expected a ton of Fs considering, but this is fair.

Also, some guys playing poorly is not the same as others... bc of role, salary etc... it's fair to question Larcus shooting 5-13 for 10 points putting up off the mark reverse layups bc they are scared... lol

Thanks for the grades! I'd gone a little harsher with Kawhi. After getting the deficit to 5 Kawhi missed shot after shot including free throws. He froze up when the Spurs needed him most. I definitely don't envy grading this poop parade.

Duncan's product getting owned by Doc Rivers per par

Seems like Patty boy misses Ginobili a lot, which is not a big surprise. Spurs should be careful about his new contract, especially with Manu retiring.
