And Mills plays against the other team's bench.
So, your contention is that Parker is better than Mills?
I said in another thread that I wouldn't be surprised if they let Mills and Dedmond walk just to give Parker a Kobe severance package.
This is the kind of dumb observation I've been accustomed to at Spurstalk. Kawhi had 8 free throws, which means he took 4 more shots than Parker. Kawhi had the ball in his control on the majority of possessions. Tony made some timely Buckets, including a 3 that helped put the game out of reach. No, he's not a superstar, but the bias makes you unable to make an honest assessment of Parker's performance.3 less shots than Kawhi Leonard on 6 less minutes
He is, but I actually didn't mind his aggression today. They were going so far under on his pick and rolls that he had free throw line jumpers. Similar to Aldridge a few times recently, you could see his frustration boiling over in the 2nd half. He was determined to will himself to respectability. In certain situations, I'd rather that than him being a bystander.
I also didn't mind Pop giving him the opportunity to do so and not running Mills into the ground. Whenever they can get away with keeping his minutes down and it doesn't cost them the game, they should take the opportunity.

To me, Tony and Manu are at about the same point in their respective careers. They can both be very effective still. But not in consecutive games without rest in between. And not for more than +/- 22 minutes per game. I would play one of them every other game while the other one rested.
It was an 11 point game with 7 minutes in the 4th against a team that had already made several runs when Parker hit the three. I'm not a big Parker fan, but it's irrational hate takes that make me defend him. He played a solid game. Sure he choked in game 7 I don’t think anyone’s denying that, while almost everyone including duncan played a bad game 6 as well, no denying that. But if you look at the series stats, well, I don’t have any explaining to do to you other than Duncan, Kawhi and Mills were pretty much the only + players for the entirety of it.
I've always said, I'm no dam of Parker, but this is true! I seen last night why Pop refuses to start Mills or Demom. Why up the 2nd unit!?! Our bench could win a serie Kawhi, an LMA could do the bulk of the scoring in the 1st unit. If Parker an Paul could get 9pts.... maybe between 6 to 11 from Danny....
People don't pay attention to how Tony creeps away from his man slowly to get his wide open corner shots.
I wouldn't make that type of judgment based on one game of course, but the answer to your question is yes.
No knock on parker. Father time is setting in, he just can't compete with the new aged pgs who are bigger , faster and more athletic, five years ago he is taking s on everyone.
Parker is still a usable PG, but he should be a bench player. Mills is a fantastic backup, but would be exposed on D if he regularly faced starting team matchups. The reality is that we don't have a starting caliber PG on this team, so the guy with the rings and a Finals MVP gets the nod until someone else steps up or we acquire a better option.
That's pretty much nonsense. Clearly, Mills is the much better player. Mills has 61 EFG to Parker's 46 EFG. That's a fifteen point difference.
Duncan was head of the snake, tbh.
