I was wondering if it might have been an option read for Dez. Either keep the ball or throw it. So they might have some luck running it again if it makes the defense think for a half second too long. Or maybe he throws back across the field to Dak. In any event, defenses will realize that he can throw the ball. Particularly if he's moving to the left.
Cole Beasley can throw too.. would love to see more gadgets utilizing Dez, Beas, or both because the current group of Lucky Whitehead gadgets all suck . Lucky Whitehead is ing useless, all he does is dance side to side and lose yards.
At least when Dwayne Harris wasn't setting the league on fire with returns, he was a special teams ace, and probably the best gunner in the league.
Harris did have Whitehead's fumbling problem though and still does. You honestly wish returners would take a knee more often. I agree the Dez/Beasley flea flickers and WR pass plays could work especially if Dak is willing to be a receiver, he has good height and body for a receiver as well
Word. Harris was an impact player. Haven't seen much from Lucky. No doubt he's quick as but seems to go down pretty easy. McFadden can throw also. I don't want them to get too gimmicky but they've got the personnel to run some trick plays without too much risk. At least less risky running the double reverse and hoping 1) Whitehead catches the toss and 2) doesn't get tackled in the backfield.
I'd worry about asking Dak to do anything like that though because he's a rookie leading the league's best team, and he's clearly happy and enjoying himself out there.. I expect some hating ass, sorry mid tier got player to try and ruin that w/ a dirty hit.
I don't know. I sure wouldn't run that for the of it. But if the opportunity was there, it might make sense. But maybe only in the red zone where he's not going to be running downfield. He's a solid dude and a legal hit shouldn't take him out. No more so then him running a keeper.
Yeah. I'm not worried bout the legal hits, dude has shown he can take some punishment.. Even at Spring Break

There's only 2 players I know of that would do that on purpose... for the first one, fortunately we don't play the Cinci Bungles and Bur got for another 4 years..... hope we don't run into Green Gay in the playoffs either, hope the Skins and Lions win their home games they should win this weekend to keep those gots out, but Clay Matthews is the biggest punkhead the league has ever seen, he'd DEFINITELY try to injure someone to help his team win and give himself a laugh.
My thoughts:
-Loved the play selection first off.. Wasn't aware Dez is a lefty, that was beautiful
-Randy Gregory looked good even though he was clearly in pain.. I'm sure he was high af too, so props
-David Irving is coming up quick, dude is hungry. Gruden is already on the bandwagon
-best ing punter tackle I've ever seen
-was surprised to see the Cowboys do as good as they did with 6 DB's.. didn't think they had the personnel for that
-as others have said, I agree the Cowboys are the team to beat
