It's 2017, Kawhi is a top 5 player and LMAlpha has been balling, yet Enrique still lead the team in FGAs.
This is stupid, but you know that so it's not really worth discussing. It's pretty clear you dont actually watch the games. If you do, I would lie and say you didn't so that no one thinks you are actually evaluating a basketball game

listen up. How many points were those wins by??????????????????????????????????????????

LOL, you're going to come back with this. They could have easily lost both of those games. The second win, you could even say they stole that from the jaws of defeat. Come on man. They were both great wins, but if any non-Spurs fans were watching those games, they could say the Spurs got lucky to win either one of them, let alone both. You think that is an indication they'll do well in Houston on the road in the playoffs? Two close wins they could have easily, easily lost?
They had a 16 point lead in the fourth quarter of the first game; it wasn't a game they snatched from the jaws of defeat. Not saying Houston won't be tough (if the Spurs even get that far) but they were in control of that first game for just about all of it.

That's bull that no effort Pau is getting all those minutes down the stretch when Dedmon is an actual intangibles guy who gets it done on defense and on the boards.
Dedmon is a foul magnet with no offensive skills.

Oh, you mean the "heroballer" that had twice as many assists as anyone else on the team? He's the only one NOT heroballing tbh.
He didn't "hero ball" the whole game. He played a great game up until the end where he "hero balled" the out of it. Throughout his career, he's gotten away with it against average teams, but it normally fails in the playoffs against good teams that we've ended up losing to. That "hero balling" has contributed to series losses for the Spurs.

If you're going to talk about assists, why didn't he try and get the ball to LA instead of going 1 of 5 to finish?????? You know, LA, the guy that was having a great game and shooting the ball well when he got open looks. The guy that was swishing open shots. Could the point guard have actually tried getting him the ball? Could the PG have tried running plays to generate good looks for Aldridge? Could he have actually done that instead of trying to win the game himself by hero balling?

Basically, it took a much less than 100% Kawhi & Hardaway going off for a career high to pull off a miraculous home win.

Yeah, the funny thing is that I don't feel nearly as bad about this loss as I have some of the wins this season. They didn't dig themselves into an early hole. Kawhi clearly wasn't himself. And it still took a lot of things going the right way for Atlanta to squeak out the win at home.

It may not seem like it, but the Spurs lost that game at the end of the 3rd quarter. They were playing really good defense, and had built up a 10 point lead. They could have cut the Hawk's heart out right there. Pop made some subs utions I wasn't crazy about, and Atlanta made those three 3P's in a row to close the lead to 5 at the end of the quarter. After that, it was a horse race, and it shouldn't have been.

    FGA's

    Kawhi 16.9
    LMA 13.9
    Gashole 10.0
    Parker 9.7

At least get your stats and figures straight.

I was obviously referring to the second game they stole. The first game shows you even with a decent lead, they nearly lost that one too. Houston has improved a lot since then. The second game was also coming off of a game they lost at home to Houston with Kawhi missing a layup at the end.

106-112; yea, that might be the time to have Pau in the game for the extra offense and floor spacing. But the game got to that point because Pau was too old, slow and tired to play help defense. The dude's a traffic cone. How many consecutive minutes did Pop play him in the 4th and OT? He's 38, not 28.

    good post

I agree on both points. There have been worse wins than this loss in terms of execution and effort. And once you let a team back in it approaching the end of a game or OT, random chance plays more of an effect on the outcome.

They didn't nearly lose it though. Houston got it down to four points with less than a minute to go and never got any closer, and a lot of that comeback had to do with awful rotations by Pop (albeit they've cost us the last two years in the playoffs as well).

Who's led the team in FGAs the past three games?

And if you listen to his post-game interviews he's just rounding into form. Expect to see his hero cape more often.

Of course he's from Atlanta. I remember them doing an interview on NBA TV with some of the officials and they talked about how they never got to officiate games in their hometowns. League really wanted a Spurs loss tonight.

The past two games without Kawhi, Parker has found hero ball mode and he doesn't seem to want to go back to his role. That's the problem with Parker. It's freaking great that he's been playing well, great to see, but he really doesn't want that role Pop has given him in my opinion. Anytime he plays well, he wants to go back to 2012, 2013. He can't help himself, which is unfortunate for both the team and himself.

Pop putting Lee on Millsap was the turning point of the game along w/ the bench crew w/ no playmakers in the line-up.

Everybody should just chill the out. Fact of the matter is these games shouldn't even be close. We're just not that good of a team right now. We aren't that bad all things considered but still have a ways to go towards being a true contender.
