I was watching the world Darts finals today and realized how much the sport has progressed. 10 years ago if you averaged 100 in a game, you're most likely going to win.

Nowadys the compe ion is much more fierce. People lose games averaging 109 .....The best Dart Player in the world who is pretty much breaking every record every game and consensus that in a va he is the best ever said he wants to win 5 championships..now the mainstream GOAT has won 16..winning championships avergaing high 90s..you cant even make it to the tournament with thosr averages in todays game.

So that led me thinking about the NBA and Coon Jordan's comp ion and main rivals in the 90s and compare it to Lebron...

    Jordan main wing rival...

Clyde drexler who wasnt even a top 7 player, Jeff Hornacek?

    Lebron's wing rival

Durant - Best Scoring win ever
Leonard - Only wing superstar to win two DPOY, finals MVP and average 24
    T-mac - Prolific scorer
Kobe - 5 time champions and one time MVP
Harden - Third best offensive SG ever
Wade - 5 time champion and Finals MVP

-"Face it fellas, the skill level of today's players are much higher.

So LeBron's wing rival, was a who couldn't make it past the first round? Not only that, a McGrady whose body was breaking down in LeBron's prime... You are in one of a free fall Harlem.

I wouldn't consider almost any of those players his rivals considering besides wade none of them even played in the East during lebrons prime.

They're not rivals in the mainstream sense, but rivals in that they played in the same era..

Think about it, the second best wing player of that generation was his teamate who also happend to be good enough to led the Bulls team to a confrence finals...

Sport progressed. Nostalgia gots and retired players are usually just salty.

Eh, you'll never be able to argue against DK due to cir stances, ap..

If you put Kobe in the 90s on those Bulls teams, there's a 95% chance that he would be considered the GOAT, tbh..

Not only was his positional rivals were weak...The 90s also went through expansion teams.

I mean When DK went on his 2 year suspension, Hakeem won two in a row...

Basically speaks volume of the lack of talent around the NBA in the 90s.

Oh yeah for sure..I mean he's alway going be to known as GOAT because of ci stances in compe ion.

But, it's pretty darn clean the skill level today on average is significantly better.

Heck you even see it on other levels.

I was watching some tapes of college games about 30 years ago, and man, those college teams wouldnt even stand a chance against a the Highchool of redwood down 13the ave...

    I meam ridoculous.

Its like technology brotha..these guys be saying their windows 95 is more powerful than todays computers.

    People dont understand progress.

Strength of compe ion isn't really that important (for ranking players)...you shouldn't penalize a guy for playing against worse compe ion. It's not his fault that other players at his position happened to be worse at the time. Most people agree Jordan would be dominant in any era.

But yes, compe ion is better today.

Yes, the people who just watch the damn games are sensitive. Not the asshurt former players and dusty old fans who whine that the league isn't frozen in time from the '90s, while STILL watching every game anyway.

Jordan would not be dominant in any era..Maybe the eras before, sure.

But a significant impovement in conpe ion level could very well mean..him reaching a few All-stars but never a championship.

There is nothing to suggest that he would be a multiple champions in this era..everythig points to him having a much more difficult time.

Because LeBron whining to the media about Draymond calling him a is the pinnacle of compe ion.

The Bad Boy Pistons threw a baby fit and stomped off the court early because DK called them classless in a press conference.
