The hint that this the beginning of the rebuild didn't go down well with Dwight Howard.

Because of his comments Ferry was booted, but he was a of a lot better than Bud.
Yea I remember that, he had to step down especially since it was a year after the Donald Sterling drama IIRC

Cheers. Seems like Atlanta could have done better. But what do I know...

A "heavily protected" first round pick from the Cavs? It could be Top 26 protected, and they'd still have to give it up. And if they took a pick more protected than that, then they really are stupid.

There's no chemotherapy strong enough for Dwight Howard.

Good point. But with that kind of roster upgrade, he might be willing. Wishful thinking on my part, I know.
I haven't actually checked the weather report for , but I'm pretty sure it's not a cold day there. LMA isn't moving to C.

Jerry West in Memphis gave the Lakers prime Pau for spare change.
Well, Pau's brother Marc wasn't exactly spare change.

I knew someone would say that. You're right, of course, ultimately but he seemed like spare change at the time. No one knew he'd turn out as well as he did. Marc was not nearly as skilled at the same age as Pau.

If you're going to over the rest of the league by adding to what is already considered a super-team, you better get something better back than the corpse of Mo Williams and a ing protected first.

Hawks probably got some under table commitment from Lebronze posse/org to help mend fences with Atlanta's black community, since Ferry-gate they don't go to the games anymore and unfortunately Atlanta is a majority black city. Hence even when winning they had weak home crowd support

Are you serious? Black people aren't going to Hawks games? Ferry didn't even say anything that bad, did he? I don't recall what he said, but it wasn't that bad was it? I thought they fired him because it would have been too touchy among the black community if they didn't.

The thing about Korver and Milsap, they are free agents after this year. Bud knows he's not winning this year, and not going to pay Korver/Milsap next year, so he's trying to get what he can. The only problem I have with the Korver trade is he's dealing with the Cavs.

Why the would the Bulls trade Jimmy Butler? You build around your franchise player when he's in his prime, you don't just dispose of him. Guess they're in full rebuild mode and he's having a career year so they're trying to sell high I guess. Something tells me he's not going anywhere though

Exactly...it's not about what he's getting (which frankly, doesn't seem like that much for a guy of Korver's resume). It's the fact that he's sending him to one of the strongest teams in what is already a top-heavy, unbalanced league. It's just like when Memphis sent Gasol to the Lakers and made them insta-favorites again after years of bullying the league. Every other team on the verge of contention is cursing the Atlanta FO right about now.

Also, I'm still salty the Spurs passed on Jimmy Butler for Corey Joseph. Could've had Kawhi and Jimmy in the same draft.

Also, the thing about guys like Korver is he's not going to put a "middling" team over the top. Knowing he's a one-year rental, these teams don't even pursue him. Cleveland (and GS), on the other hand can take a gamble with the one year rental. If things work out, they could possibly re-sign Korver at a discount, especially if he likes winning and playing with LeBron.

To be fair with the FO, not even the Bulls FO knew Butler would be this good. That 2011 draft was outstanding all things considered.

I'm more way pissed that we passed on Jokic to get Anderson or the fact that we had to waste a pick to get rid of Jefferson when the 2012 draft was loaded with talent in the 2nd round. Draymond Green, Krhis Middleton, Will Barton, Jae Crowder, Kyle O'Quinn ..Any of those guys would look good in a SA jersey now.
