Truth is fake news have been around since the beginnings of time. Its laughable that MSM and US are claiming this is something recent
Are they?
Check out CNN cutting the feeds and blaming it on technical difficulties when someone was either pro-Trump or anti-Clinton. Guy at the end starts talking about good ol Bill's sexcapades and gets shouted down immediately.
The US did defeat the Nazis. The Brits weren't going to. At all. We quite literally saved the existence of Britain. Don't get it twisted with the myth that the Russians beat Germany. The Allies put all the foundational cracks and then Hitler's meth addiction finished them off with the help of the Russian winter. The Red Army was good at spreading the propaganda when they came in for the crumbs.
And the bombs in Hiroshima didn't save millions, but definitely tens of thousands of American soldiers. Sucks it happened a second time, but American history's greatest villains of the last hundred years were 80% Democrats. They just LOVE killing people under the guise of something else.
Truman
FDR
LBJ
Obama
W. Bush
All are lying war criminals and committed crimes against humanity. Obama just happens to be the most lackadaisical and the worst at covering his tracks. But then again, he's a dumb, lazy, thieving jig...
the US beat the Nazis is the biggest propaganda bull in modern history
The Nazis threw everything including the kitchen sink in Russia. Hitler made the mistake of trying to take over Russia and defeat Stalin over taking over rest of Europe.
On the western front, the Nazis sent mostly children to fight. while sending their most ruthless fighters to the East.
Nazis Killed by Soviet Union
3,772,297
Nazis Killed by EVERYONE ELSE including US
735,340
there were 607 Nazi divisions destroyed on the Soviet-German front, which was three-quarters of the whole fascist army
it's not even close tbqh
You folks are confusing propaganda with fake news.
Fake news is just making up a sensational story and getting it going. It's not really news until the news media grabs and runs with it. Prior to that it's just yap on a facebook post. Propaganda is a bending of the truth or adding/hiding crucial details of a situation to influence trust or sow discord, which ever you need as a government.
Like how Tony scored those 17 or so points after missing 11 shots in a row when the Spurs were up 25 or something stupid in game 5 of the 2014 NBA Finals?
They were selling your .
It was legit then.
Disagree. Propaganda is a massive number of fake news/stories on a given subject to bend public opinion.
Sure it's a large number but in the end, it's fake news as well. So they are one and the same
Propaganda is information that is not objective and is used primarily to influence an audience and further an agenda, often by presenting facts selectively (perhaps lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis or perception, or using loaded messages or "loaded language" to produce an emotional rather than a rational response to the information that is presented.[2] Propaganda is often associated with material prepared by governments, but activist groups and companies can also produce propaganda.
Straight from Wiki.
Compare that to "Hoax" which is what fake news really is. Spreading it faster doesn't make it propaganda.
Bill Clinton is Dead: Hoax
Bill Clinton was seen favoring his right side while walking, suggesting a medical issue.: propaganda
Completely wrong. Fake news is a new term created by the propaganda machine, it's an invented term thus has no real meaning. It's an alias to propaganda in reality.
The US is accusing Russia of propaganda. Which is pretty stupid given all countries rely on their propaganda machines. Especially USA
If you rely think of it fake news is just a child of propaganda because the propaganda machine created it
Maybe the way you're used to using it, but that would mean you're wrong. I posted an entire list of fake news stories that can be accurately described as fake news.
It's not a hard concept. A completely fabricated story is fake news.
Ok Wiki is completely wrong.
Propaganda and fake news are hardly mutually exclusive. Quite the contrary.
Propaganda is certainly noted for its use of fake news. Not all fake news is for the purpose of propaganda. This should not be hard.
That's what I said.
Wouldnt b the first time
agree. My point was that, fake news is a subset of propaganda
but fake news used by the current MSM is propaganda in itself. They are basically bombarding us with the meme "dont listen to them, listen to only us" and they are relabeling it as fake news
its a fact Clinton campaign/foundation is partly funded by Saudi, then that would take some of your listed items off the fake news list. Add a few other facts and many of ur items then dont qualify as fake news.
disagree btw. Washington post posted a list of "fake news" sites and many of them write articles with verifiable facts.
"verifiable facts" doesn't make a website credible.
The following paragraph contains a verifiable fact.
"It is cold outside. This is because my cat is bored, and has magic powers to make it cold when it is bored, so I will spend more time playing with it."
Is the above paragraph credible or not, because of the verifiable fact it contains? Or is something else going on? If so, what is that?
Was responding to the user saying fake news are based on sero facts.
washington post has been posting fake news such as Russians hacked US power grid but they were based on some facts. The fact that an old laptop had Russian malware.
so thats a verifiable fact but does not make Washington Post story credible, yet it is still fake news
No one said they were mutually exclusive. They aren't one and the same. WMDs in Iraq isn't fake news. If it wasn't true, it was propaganda.
Wrong. Fake news is "Russian plane found on Mars". False conclusions from factual reports aren't the same as fake news, just poor, speculative analysis. If the Russian hacking claim was fake news, you'd have to know the truth to realize it. You were able to glean that the article/s are speculation biased toward certain confirmation just by reading the article. That's more along the lines of propaganda.
"If it wasn't true, it was propaganda."
it was a criminal lie
