"Manu is somebody that could play another 5 or 6 years. This season I thought about leaving him out, lower his minutes and let him do my job because he's been telling me what to do for a long time", said Pop in Ciudad de Mexico, where the Spurs lost 108-105 to the Phoenix Suns (Manu scored 16 points).

"I'm smart enough to listen to him because he's a great player and an amazing human being. This season his role is being a mentor to the younger players. He's played less minutes, but whenever he plays he's Manu Ginobili and he competes at the highest level, he does everything in his power to win. Obviously, his future is in the Hall of Fame. This season his leadership is much more important than what he does on the court because he knows a lot, and he relays that to the younger players", Pop concluded.

Then everyone else must be awful because Manu has been stinking it up lately.

I didn't, tbh...Just being sarcastic. This team's wings with the exception of Kawhi, obviously, are just not very good.

That part about Manu playing 5-6 years tho... him and Tony 5 more years...
Thanks for sharing Nono.. I have thought mentorship in the PnR is precisely what he's been doing... Simmons has improved a lot, he's just not consistent.. Dijon is young and already showing signs...
I have thought it's his last season and this despite some criticism have to enjoy him. But one never knows. I am sure by the looks of it Pop would like him back next season too...

The guy is insanely senile. No doubt in my mind he will go to the Manure step back airball late in a playoff game

and the yes men he's surrounded with too, even Udoka. One of those clowns in suits will be next smh

Think how well that story plays to the Spanish-speaking fans. Pop is an advance scout in the NBA's colonization effort.

Talking about messages. I'm getting tired of "There are other more things than basketball" "NASA discovered all those habitable planets..." after every ing loss.

Pop making fun of the loss is the right message for the young players on the team? C'mon Pop.

Manure looked off a WIDE OPEN Kawhi to pass the ball to Pau in the post so he can get the ball back for a step back brick; he even shot a dead-ball 3 after the foul on Pau.

I bet Kyle could have inbounded the ball to Kawhi... but Pop you know...

Frankly that play and the side of the backboard three!
    Hmmm

Pop is on a goodwill mission so folks won't turn on him like they have on Phil when he gets exposed as a senile old man.

I have to admit, that was awful. He was clearly looking to redeem himself after that Bucks miss shot. He had a pass to kawhi with Aldridge set to make a screen.

Manu could've too. (He's the superior passer )Kawhi wasn't wide open tho. Just an odd play. Would've had Pau benched tbh

Prior to that, Manu got us in the game again. But folks will have selective memory of course

Was Kawhi wide open tho? I seriously don't see it.

Again, we wouldn't have been it had it not been for Manu. Since you bring up Anderson, he wouldn't have done what Manu did prior to that pass.

Kawhi would've caught the ball with a defender right on him. Maybe another time out would've been better, or putting better FT shooters.

    On to the next

    Mr. Nasty is long gone.
He did the same after the 2013 finals... People on here are hilarious. Just cause a loss isn't the end of the world to him like it is to the cliff divers here, people think his fire is gone.
