Dak Prescott was fantastic for a rookie and he will get better and better with time. The Cowboys will win a SB with him at QB.
Totally unrealistic to expect anymore than what we saw in 2016. Like the Raiders, great time to be a Cowboys fan. And it wouldn't surprise me at all to see a Cowboys vs Raiders SB in the next 3-5 seasons.

So...grounding that ball at 1st and 10. Hindsight is 20/20. But was that a clear mistake at the time? I'm thinking yes. With the timeouts, I'd rather have run Zeke up the middle or look for a short pass. Would have taken time off the clock and also given 3 plays to get 10 yards instead of 2. Might have allowed the Cowboys to get a TD there.
Of course it was a mistake. Jason Garret is a moron. He's the biggest idiot in coaching. Why the would you waste a down when you have a timeout left? It was 1st and 10 on the 40 iirc and you had the packers defense on their heels. Why the would you stop the clock for absolutely no reason? It was the perfect time to go hurry up with a couple of shots into the endzone. Cowboys fans shouldn't even get excited about the team for as long as Garrett is the head coach.
only 22 carries for Zeke, too.
I agree Dak could of caught Green Bays defense off guard....
Yeah. The 22 carries by itself doesn't bother me. But it seemed that there were some pretty good times to give him the ball when they didn't. Especially in the 2nd half when GB looked tired and he was ripping off big gains.
I haven't confirmed this but on the radio, they said that Zeke never carried the ball on 2 consecutive downs. If that's true, that's pretty ridiculous playcalling.

I think he did at least once that I remember, everyone at the pub commented on it. He should have carried it at least 30 times imo. Sitting him week 17 to give him a rest and only 22 carries is just dumb.
I think Garret tries to outsmart everyone to the team's detriment. One of the best O-lines and Rbs in football. Run the damn ball. And from what I remember, I think they may have only passed to Zeke once. The main reason their defense looked decent this year was the O was able to keep them off the field. Not sure why you have a 13-3 record and decide to switch things up. Their passing game is OK but it should be used as a compliment to the run. Not the other way around.
I don't have a problem with that based on the cir stances of the game. When you're trying to make up a 3-possession deficit, the clock is not your friend. The hole they dug forced them to pass more, plus the Packers were loading up at the line of scrimmage and Dez and other receivers had one on on coverage.
True, but in several 3rd and 2's in the second half it wouldn't have hurt to run the ball.
I hope Free is cut. Weak link on the line and he's aging. Lael Collins will take that spot.

Jaylon Smith will be a beast next year; word is he will be playing this coming year according to stuff I've read (his damaged nerve, deep fibular, which caused foot drop is regenerating).
For the love of God, please add at least one quality pass rusher to go with Irving. And add one reliable corner to be lining alongside Scandrick.
ty thing is the schedule is brutal next year. Absolutely brutal. We'll see how they respond to adversity in the road even more so next year.
They need a brutal schedule. Not that weak they played this season. I wouldn't even mind a losing season as long as Garrett gets exposed for the fraud that he is.
I still think the Boys have a 10-11 game win season. They will play the AFC West along with division winners so it should be dicey tbh
Tbh, I'm upset with Garrett but more so with the coordinators. I have no idea what the kind of game Linehan called. The Boys almost won the game but none of it had to do with coaching. , Dom Capers straight up almost gifted the Boys the game along with the Boys talent showing.
Maranelli did about as much as he could with the scrubs that made up this defense. Truth is if you are to defeat the Pack, you have to have very disciplined DB's and some semblance of a pass rush more occasionally than not. Both things the Cowboys lacked.

Poor coaching and a bad defense lost us that game. The play calling on 3rd and 2 made no sense. It was a fun season, tho.
I just remembered this jinx guy.... Another reason the Cowboys lost.
