No disagreements here. Tony didn't start declining until the end of 2014 tbh. IIRC, he was MVParker until getting injured against Memphis in Nov/Dec and never looked the same (completely) after that.
I just have to say that outside of the beautiful game and kawhi's emergence as a big time player, TP's game in these games are/were so undervalued and forgotten with Spursfans.
As much as a lot of us have given him for game 6 okc 2nd half, and game 5 "statpadding", there were a lot of times when the Heat looked to be on the roll and get back into the game and TP just stopped the momentum. Queiting the crowd every time pretty much. Also, he was beating people whether it was lebron, any heat pg, wade on his dribble penetrations which is amazing considering he was supposed to be on the "decline" this year. I can't help but think that 2013-2014 TP would put us over the top this year easily imho, he was still that much of a threat back then.

Once you hit 30 it's all downhill from there. Thankfully we had MVParker to keep the Spurs contenders between the Duncan/Kawhi gap.

Leandro Barbosa would be the biggest winner PG too if he had played under Pop and alongside Timothy Duncan, David Robinson, Emannuel Ginobili, and Kawhi Leonard.To biggest winner PG of his era tbh.

Also, our problem is that we have really no consistent threat outside of Kawhi, games 3 and 4 showed that TP was still that threat before imho. I've been a critic but some things are left undervalued from that beautiful run. Omiss that team
6-23, 3-12. Those are Porker's shooting numbers in what should have been the closeout games of the 2013 NBA Finals, before your theorized decline. He cost the Spurs the 2013 le and nearly cost them in 2014 with his garbage play. Truth bomb.

Had he only hit 4 shots in game 6, they wouldn't have even been in a position to win.
Players have bad shooting nights in the finals. List of guys with at least 10 FGA who shot 27% or worse (as Parker did in both games) ... lots of HOFers / future HOFers on the list:

Even Ray Allen shot 0 for 13 in a finals game. Let's not lump Parker in with guys like John Starks for whom 2 or 3 for 18 was the norm. Though I do find it stunning he's never had ten assists in a finals game but Duncan has.

I've been rooting for the Spurs in one capacity or another since mid nineties. I paid for league pass this year and only bought the Spurs. I bet on the Spurs every time I pass by the casino, which is many of the games. Is this not being a fan? Do I need to fill out an application?

Oh, if I'm a real Spurs fan I have to admit that Pop can do no wrong (cough: last 30 seconds of 13 Gm 6) or that Parker s rainbow sprinkles. Thanks for clarifying that for me, dude.
