There was another fine moment at the inauguration and it was Schumer who delivered it. It was just BEFORE he recited the story of the Civil War veteran and his letter home days before he lost his life on the battlefield at Bull Run.
Schumer states:::..."and we can gain strength from reading our history and listening to the voices of average Americans. They always save us in times of strife."
This man stood up yesterday, and all day. Whether it was at this moment, or, the luncheon afterward, or, the signing of do ents after that where he good heartedly joined with President Trump in realization of the day.
It was his finest hour.

Secret Service slaps down White House claim that ‘magnetometers’ shrank inaugural crowd size
At a testy Saturday evening press conference, newly minted White House Press Secretary Sean er offered a pair of novel defenses for the apparent small sizeof the crowds attending the inauguration of Pres. Donald Trump.
“This was the first time in our nation’s history that floor coverings have been used to protect the grass on the [National] Mall,” er said.
“That had the effect of highlighting any areas where people were not standing, while in years past the grass eliminated this visual.
This was also the first time that fencing and magnetometers went as far back on the Mall, preventing hundreds of thousands of people from being able to access the Mall as quickly as they had in inaugurations past.”
However, CNN’s Jim Acosta spoke with a representative of the U.S. Secret Service, who said “no magnetometers were used on the National Mall for Trump’s inauguration.”

Canadians Traveling to Women's March Denied US Entry After Sharing Plans
The first question border agents asked the group was "Are you anti- or pro-Trump?"
Their cars were searched and their mobile phones examined.
Each member of the group was fingerprinted and had their photo taken.
Border agents first told the two French citizens that they had been denied entry to the US and informed them that any future visit to the US would now require a visa.
“Then for the rest of us, they said, ‘You’re headed home today’,” Dyck said. The group was also warned that if they tried to cross the border again during the weekend, they would be arrested. “And that was it, they didn’t give a lot of justification.”
Dyck described it as a sharp contrast to 2009, when the research nurse made the same journey to attend Barack Obama's inauguration.
“I couldn’t even get in for this one, whereas at the other one, the guy at the border literally gave me a high five when I came in and everybody was just like, ‘welcome’.
The whole city was partying; nobody was there to protest Obama the first time.”
