Pretty amazing that Manu made top 10 in guard votes. I guess he has a better fan base than Parker worldwide.

At 39 he's also the better player, person and teammate, tbh...
Yeah, they're terrible.
TNT's picks were even worse. I know they're more entertainers than legit analysts and don't watch much or utilize advanced stats, but still. They've been around organized basketball and involved, either through playing or analyzing the NBA, for over a quarter century, yet the things they value are laughable and so is their overall knowledge.
The fact that only a few had Lowry, none had Aldridge until Smith picked him as Paul's injury replacement and Barkley had Bledsoe! (after claiming he values winning), is ridiculous. Honestly, the network should be embarrassed.
You're so predictable; I knew this was coming.
Again, who cares? Prime Parker and Williams used to destroy Paul, so did that make them better too? Of course the far physically superior Westbrook, who's younger and up until this season, had less of an offensive load, was going to get the better of an aging Paul. He's still a stat chasing/padding, low IQ player and Paul is still a basketball savant, who was having a ridiculous season, with a roster that sans Griffin isn't all that impressive. Paul has become something like the Duncan of PG's: consistently elite and constantly underrated because he's not athletic, flashy (to the casuals) and his averages aren't eye popping.
Of course the Thunder fall apart without Westbrook, the only two other NBA caliber players they have that can dribble, have both missed significant time and even with them, they're not very good. That's more a reflection of the team than him though.
Kawhi won DPOY from the players last year too and will likely continue to win it since every player hates Draymond. He's going to continue getting those from the players maybe deservingly so..but yeah. players generally just based their opinion on mainstream things.
Oh so Kidd deserved the MVP over Iverson in 2001 b/c one of them was a "savant" while the other one was a "low IQ stat padder"![]()
Neither of them deserved an MVP ever.
Both of them led their teams to the Finals too.
Kidd destroyed Billups in 2003 (the same Billups that destroyed PEAK Choke-P3 in 2009) & Iverson outplayed Kirby despite playing 1-on-5.
It's pretty obvious you are one of those "purist" that are infatuated by Choke-P3's lack of killer instinct & frown on anyone who tries to take the game by the throat. Isiah Thomas was a pure PG but he knew when it was money time, it's not mutually exclusive.

I literally can't believe just how good Leonard is. That the Spurs are this blessed to have him in the post Duncan era.. It's amazing.
I'm a fan of high IQ types, that play with no agenda.
"Killer instinct" . . . pure nonsense. Paul is about as compe ive as they come and he's traditionally stepped his game up in the playoffs. There's only so much a player that small, who's not overly explosive and has had somewhat limited teams and little luck, can do though.
There are guys w/ "killer instinct" & then there are guys w/ a Napoleon complex who bark louder than they bite. WestBrick would have destroyed Prigioni & Jason Terry rather than dribbling the air out of the ball then taking bail out shots every time down the floor when the Rockets were doubling Blake.
