How could anyone who knows the game not see Brady right there with Montana when it comes to THE GOAT? With Brady still playing and adding to his legend and on the brink of surpassing the great Joe Montana.

His longevity isn't as appreciated as it should be, not many really wrap their brains around a guy who might end his career leading his team at an elite level for two full decades.
We simply see too many young posters on these forums with no clue at all about most things. If you know the NFL from an historical perspective how can Brady not be in the GOAT discussion? I saw Unitas, Tarkenton, Starr, Bradshaw, Namath, Montana, etc etc etc play, Tom Brady is as good as it gets.
You have a unique level of stupiity son.
That last play shouldn't have counted...
They`ve got GOAT coach and GOAT player for 17 years. Rest has changed a lot during that span.
Like I said, Montana is the best POSTSEASON QB. If we're are talking about stats then Peyton Manning is the GOAT.
Good luck stopping '94 Steve Young when he has an elite receiver like Moss in an era where you couldn't bump receivers & where he could take off to escape pressure without worrying about getting crushed. Besides, the only thing that stopped Montana was a back injury sustained due to a hit that would have gotten a pass rusher thrown out of the league today.

Brady is great but he's overrated at the same time. He's not the GOAT and he's the definition of a system QB. Those short slant routes that New England constantly runs are perfect for his noodle arm, tbh.

What?
Montana in the playoffs
16-7
Brady...24-9
Montana comp % 62.6
Brady 62.3
Montana TD/INT...45-21
Brady 61-30
What are you looking at, with Brady having years to go?
If we combine stats & accompishments it's all Tom Brady.
The Niners are my team, and yes Montana was fantastic, but.....Tom Brady is the only QB who was better. Steve Young just doesn't have the numbers to hang with the top dawgs.

Montana lost to all-time dynasties, Brady lost to wild-card teams.![]()
Seen them both play in college, saw them both as rookies. Saw every pro game Montana played as a Niner (live in Cali) and yes he is great. But, Tom Brady is better, and he even had better NCAA stats.
Montana career
63.2 comp%
92.3 QB rating
Brady
63.8
97.2
Montana also got to play flawed AFC teams in the Super Bowl with dominant teams of his own. With the notable exception of the '81 team, Montana's championship teams were stacked on both sides of the ball. The NFC was the superior conference in Montana's day, but the AFC for the most part has been the superior conference in Brady's era. Brady has gone against Manning's Colts and some really good Steelers and Ravens teams (and the Chargers who for all their mental weakness had a ton of talent) and has done it without the kind of all-time rosters Montana worked with, IMO.
FWIW Montana suffered a string of ty playoff losses in the mid-80's, including the upset loss to the Vikings in which he was benched at halftime for Steve Young.
Yeah, he only had to go through 4 dynasties
-Parcells' Giants
-Joe Gibbs' Redskins
-Diktas' Bears
-Landry's Cowboys.
That happens to be the season where he put up 38 on LT & the Giants then ended Landry's Cowboys. With the notable exception of the '81 team, Montana's championship teams were stacked on both sides of the ball.
Cheatriots basically had the EASIEST path to a SB in recent memory this season & EVERY team operates under salary cap rules thus the teams Grady faced aren't as stacked as the team's Montana faced. Grady also lost when he had the best receiver of his generation & now plays w/ the best TE of his generation. The NFC was the superior conference in Montana's day, but the AFC for the most part has been the superior conference in Brady's era. Brady has gone against Manning's Colts and some really good Steelers and Ravens teams (and the Chargers who for all their mental weakness had a ton of talent) and has done it without the kind of all-time rosters Montana worked with, IMO.
......you mean AFTER he shattered his back.FWIW Montana suffered a string of ty playoff losses in the mid-80's, including the upset loss to the Vikings in which he was benched at halftime for Steve Young.![]()
Considering how flustered Grady was by the Giants pass rush in an era where QBs are babied, imagine him playing in the 80s when LT was ending careers every other week.![]()
that's it & that's all, tbh
Tom Brady is the best QB I have seen. Joe Montana was the best.
Does anyone ever take a few minutes and Google career stats? Its all there staring right at ya.
longevity
comp %
TD/INT
yards
wins
playoff success
QB ratings
Who did it better combined?
http://www.pro-football-reference.co...B/BradTo00.htm
Now add his playoff success.
Who did it better, well?

Dude, seen them all since Johnny U who threw to HOFers to be....Ray Berry, Lenny Moore and John Mackey. Montana had the great Bill Walsh and then here came Jerry Rice. Terry Bradshaw had HOFers Stallworth/Swann. Marino had the Marks brothers and Tony Nathan. Dan Fouts had HOFers Kellon Winslow, Charlie Joiner and speedy John Jefferson/Wes Chandler and it goes on an on.
I have never seen a better QB than Tom Brady....ok? And....his stats, accomplishments agree with me.
Floyd Mayweather is a defensive wizard, so what? Iron Mike was a slugger, so what? Bob Hayes simply out ran defenders, so what? All this silly..."systems"... , makes no sense.

Wrong as usual.
And this old head saw Unitas many many times, Brady is far better.
I'm not sure as to why I will bother with this, but just because you say it's so, doesn't make it so.
Work with me here....
I saw Unitas play many many times, ok? And I;ve seen Brady play many times, ok ya with me?
Brady is a better QB than Unitas, yep, seen it actualy happen, ok?
You can always compare career stats, wins, QB ratings, etc etc.
