An official said the visit “made relations with the intelligence community worse” and described the visit as “uncomfortable.”

Authorities are also pushing back against the perception that the CIA workforce was cheering for the president. They say the first three rows in front of the president were largely made up of supporters of Mr. Trump’s campaign.

An official with knowledge of the make-up of the crowd says that there were about 40 people who’d been invited by the Trump, Mike Pence and Rep. Mike Pompeo teams.

    You selectively missed this one:

Officials acknowledge that Mr. Trump does have his supporters within the CIA workforce, many of whom were interspersed among the rank and file standing off to the president’s right.

You asked for the CBS link, I gave it to you.

Not sure anyone ever denied Trump had supporters in the CIA.

CBS confirmed with sources that Trump brought staff and those were the ones applauding. Same thing happened at his Press Conference last week. You're not supposed to take "studio audience" literally, but it's clear they're bringing people to these things to create a similar effect. It's a perfectly relevant metaphor.

I assume you watched both of those. If you did, it's hard for me to believe you think those were organic reactions from the intended audiences of those statements.

Was the POTUS just supposed to stroll down to Langley by himself? So taking staff and the new Sec. of Defense makes it a "studio audience"? Did they have laugh tracks too like I Love Lucy?

It does when the staff reacts like a studio audience. Do you think those were organic reactions typical of POTUS staffers brought to press conferences / CIA addresses?

He's not the first President to give speeches and bring staffers. I doubt he's just that compelling a speaker that this is the first time those staffers have reacted like they're seeing blinking "Applause" signs.

Did they have laugh tracks too like I Love Lucy?
You act like that's a far-fetched concept for the people who brought stacks of blank paper to a press conference and staged a lobby photo where Trump pretended to be writing his inaugural speech with a Sharpie.

donald is looking like a delicate snowflake more and more everyday. i thought the liberals were supposed to be the sensitive ones?
    You clearly don't get it.

When Republicans cry about Obama, they're standing up for their country because muh first amendment

When liberals raise legitimate concerns about Trump, they're just a bunch of whiners.

There was another pic of her following Trash into a doorway, as women do in Africa, while Barry and Mic e each had an escorting hand on M's back.

Trash is a pussy-grabbing slob of a slimeball egocentric misogynist.

There was another pic of M seated at table with the same depressed look on her face as the tweet above.

Bannon working his racial hate/white nationalist supremacy into Trump's empty head

    The Meaning of “American Carnage”

Trump won the presidency with his message of racial reaction, and now he’s governing with it, too.

“The crime and the gangs and the drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential,” said the president. “This American carnage stops right here and stops right now.”

There’s a small problem with this image. It’s a fantasy. And it’s a fantasy that serves a particular purpose:

to demonize groups and protest movements organized around police reform.

The evidence is the White House page on law enforcement, updated after Trump’s inauguration.

“Our job is not to make life more comfortable for the rioter, the looter, or the violent disrupter,”

writes the administration on a page led “
Standing Up for Our Law Enforcement Community.” But this isn’t demonization for its own sake; it’s central to

the president’s larger political vision, a white iden y politics that looks with skepticism and hostility toward claims of racial injustice.

There is no broad “American carnage.”

Just 35 percent of black Americans believe their local police treat “racial and ethnic groups equally,” and 31 percent think officers are held accountable when “misconduct occurs.”

The Trump we have understands that millions of white Americans, including much of his voting base, are profoundly alienated by black protest movements against abusive police.

The numbers tell the story. Supermajorities of whites see police as essentially above reproach.

Seventy-five percent say they “use the right amount of force for each situation” and believe they “treat racial and ethnic groups equally.”

Seventy percent believe police are held accountable for misconduct, and 81 percent say they have either “some” or “a lot” of confidence in their local police departments.

In terms of Trump’s supporters, 59 percent of white Republicans believe “too much attention” is paid to race.

Perhaps the most revealing number is this one: Just 14 percent of white Americans “strongly support” Black Lives Matter (26 percent support it “somewhat”).

If public opinion is any indication, most white Americans simply don’t see the problem.

What they do worry about is crime.

And Trump is using that fear to undermine the drive to reform law enforcement, and he’s doing it by

tying protest to disorder and evoking a highly racialized vision of the violent, crime-ridden “inner city.”

    http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2017/01/what_trump_means_when_he_talks_about_american_carn age.html

So Trash, Bannon are appealing to the KKK and racists in general.

So "why does Trash make everything about race?"

But I doubt even you can say Trump doesn't devalue his wife. She's just a tool he parades when ever he needs her.

You people obviously don't understand what it means to be a supporting wife. Her job is to be encouraging for him (when he's looking at her). Besides, it's exhausting to smile all day - was a bridesmaid once and by the end of the day, my cheeks hurt from having to smile so much for pictures, etc.
