It wasn't a disaster though. If I didn't know better, just from reading this thread I would think Aldridge played like and cost the team. It seems like everyone hates him here. I like him though. Such a dynamic player. Can post up anybody, and can drain outside jumpers all day. Turned out to be a nice defender too.
    He had a solid game.

I don't know if anyone caught the the thing about LeBron James saying the Cavs are 'top heavy'.

That they need "lots of bodies" like the Spurs to contribute!

LMA is fine tbh. He was far from a problem in this game outside bricking freebies.

I have never in my entire life seen a coach that hates winning games as much as Popvoich. I've truly never seen it
It's the regular season. This is practice.

    Davis had a good game!!!
And I am glad Bryn Forbes picked this game up to show us all that he can shoot too.
He can definitely shoot... 75% today. He just needs to be setup.... I mean if he was setup as much as Red is set up, then he should be able to make an impact.

Spurs rarely ever create screens for the 3 point shooters. I don't know if that's just because its the regular season.

    Speaking of which, from RealGM:

    Spurs without him:
    2015-2016: 7-3

How that little narrative has flipped over the past three years.

Kyle Lowry will average about 15 push offs per quarter and have a great night.

Terrence Ross will pick up DeRozan's slack by making lots of long 2s.

Plus, Spurs need to make up for the Warriors' loss.

    Spurs lose.
Couldn't watch live, but apparently I was spot on except for losing.. thankfully.

Not that he was anything special, but it helps to have another guy like LMA here too.

That's just crazy talk ltho, what the RealGM poster said. We would win games without TD as well, I think it just speaks more to Pop's brilliance than anything.

It is crazy talk, and the guy got pretty panned for it. I just remember that around these parts in 2013-2015, folks would cite the Spurs' record without Kawhi all the time to show how essential he was. Now you have a guy doing it to show how overrated he is. Full circle.

Yea. I mean it was cringe worthy when he was out a few years back. Now they've got a bit more talent so that helps of course

So weary of the wrongful hate negativity of this forum on Aldridge. He's getting it done.

The issue is that when Kawhi went out, both Green and Manu were out. The Spurs were like 8-8 without Kawhi, but if you count when Green and Manu came back, they were 6-2 without him, and one of those losses was a game where Pop sat the Big Three. And it was during the RRT, which just made it harder. They were 2-6 without any of their top three wings, which is what you'd expect.

In that same way, these last two games were games where Pop felt he could get away with sitting Kawhi and keeping Parker out. They aren't a fair sample.

I'm def not a hater and share your sentiment, he's been looking very comfortable in the system lately and that's great news. I do think he needs to work on those crunch time free throws though, he can be a little mentally weak at times..

I remember those guys were out, it was brutal defensively.

They may have won games without him, but I'm sure the defense was very ugly

I like that side of Bertans, even if Pop doesn't. I guess he could wind up getting his ass kicked by the league if he actually gets tangled up with someone. But I don't see him going out of his way to start . I like a guy who isn't going to take , either.

There's no doubt he was coming around to explain things to Ross. Pop will probably super glue his ass to the bench for the rest of the season over it.

    Ace3G always posts great stuff.

the difference is no one on this site is suggesting the spurs would be fine without kawhi.
