Coaches decide the reserves and if the Dubs got 4 All Stars, because of what they are doing, there was no way that the Spurs only get 1(when they are only 2 games behind them. Especially when there is a chance that Memphis and Utah might get 2 All Stars as well. If we didn't get 2 it would have been disrespect. Besides that would mean they would have to rethink who the real MVP is, if the KingSlayer is doing it all by himself and people aren't ready to change the narrative to that yet.

Of course LMA made it. Spurs is big within the coaches and teams. Gonna win 60 games. You can't do that by yourself and LMA was an all-star before joining and his numbers dipped. He is still the same player.

What is all this talk about "being good enough to be an all-star"? While some great players play in the all star game, they don't play great in all star games. It's a glorified pick up game. And the baseline determination for what an "all star" is has become so arbitrary that I don't think that it has any meaning. If 4 players from GSW should make it, then it shows you that the all-star game is meaningless. You tell me there aren't at least two players that are stars on their teams that are not better players, at least statistically, then the bottom two Warriors that will be on the all-star team?

I'm not surprised if LMA makes it. It's hard to have only one All-Star on a .800 team.
But it would keep feeding into the sport media's narrative that the team is all about THE SYSTEM if only Kawhi makes it.

I was prepared for only Leonard to get in as it would identify this whole process as the definition of an exhibition.
To say that the team with the 2nd best record in the league (5 games better than the 3rd best team) only get ONE player in.... well what else needs to be said about the event.
Props to LMA though... we on him but I think he's filled his role at least adequately.
