Klay Thompson is literally worse than CJ McCollum in every stat (raw or advanced) besides rebounds per game..... where he beats CJ by 0.3rebs

Anyone can be a coach nowadays in Today's NBA. That's why only 4-5 coaches stick
CJ/Lillard are possibly the worst MAX contract backcourt in NBA history as far as defense is concerned.

Klay as the primary option (when Curry was out) raped CJ in last season's series: http://www.basketball-reference.com/...-warriors.html

Lillard topped CJ by conceding a record 17 pts in OT to a crippled Curry:

Raymond Green averaging 10/8/7 on 44FG%

..... an "automatic" allstar according to the TNT crew
Gaymond is a the most overrated system player in NBA history, he got destroyed by Steven Adams who didn't even get a single all-star vote.

Hopefully, they Duds play the Jazz in the 2nd rd & a pissed off Gobert goes '94 Mutombo on 'em.

If Pop was on the ballot he'd win every year but he's not. Pop gets the credit for the team's success, and Kawhi is the best player on the team. In GS, the team gets credit and Steve is there trying to ride the whirlwind.
Which makes no sense to me. Riley, Jackson, and Auerbach all get credit for being great coaches even though they had loaded teams.

A team could feasibly have the 3rd best in the league at every position and have no one in the AS game, yet win a championship with that level of talent.
The best player on a top tier team will make it 99.9% of the time.

Pop can't even coach the West, since he was the coach last season, right?

Then Leonard should be automatically ahead of the mvp race if you have the second best record with only one allstar, and only 2 games back. While Harden is ahead 7 games back?

I would still prefer the clippers to play GS. Neither the Jazz or Clips are likely to win but I would at least like to see the Warriors have to work before they get to the WCF.
In this bracket, Houston and Memphis would play, Houston would be favored but Memphis has a way of playing over their heads against better teams in the playoffs, I would love to have the Spurs play Memphis in the second round after beating OKC.

    GSW
    SAS
    HOU
    LAC
    JAZZ
    MEM
    OKC
    DEN/POR/SAC

    2nd round
    GSW
    SAS
    HOUS
    LAC

    LAC VS. GSW
    HOU VS. SAS

I don't even watch the allstar game anyway last time i watched i was like 15. Personally i dont want any spurs playing in that game they should sit out and rest that weekend get ready for what really matters playing for a championship.

Feel a bit bad for LMa, but maybe his Fatdridge act cost him the AS selection.

Yes, it should help Kawhi's MVP candidacy. Question is, will it actually?

Not that it really matters, but if a WC all-star drops out because of injury, who does the Commissioner select? My guess is it's LA.

if we are fantasy booking then the only change I make is have the Jazz drop back to 6, Mem at 4 and LAC at 5, make things harder on the Clips, no HCA and the Grizz if they get past them are a matchup problem for the Dubs.

The difference between a winner and a loser, vacation? Kawhi would be in the gym all week working on his game and trying to get better.

LMA has had a good year. If I had time, I would post the stats. But if you peruse Baskbetballreference and NBA.com, you can see for yourself that LMA is basically the same All-Star player he was last year. Some downward adjustments are made to account for the fact that he plays with Pau, so he has less rebounds, and the Spurs had to deal with so many new faces, which contributes to a slower start.

But things like WS/48, TS%, BPM, are near LMA's career highs - often second-only to his highs set last year. They are generally better than anything he did in Portland. His raw +/- is also among his better numbers, indicating that the lineups he is in are pretty stout overall.

If All-Stars are for the best players, I think LMA was snubbed. The Spurs' system doesn't ask him to contribute as much, which saves his energy and makes him more effective. I get that Draymond is a good defender, but LMA is one as well, and his defensive impact stats (which are highly flawed, I know) indicate that the lineups he is in are strong defenders. He also deserved it over DJ, whose overall game just doesn't compare.

Perry I'm sure your investigation will lead you to the conclusion the Mafia was involved in the 4 Warriors selections.

Here's to hoping he plays with a chip on his shoulder. He doesn't seem like that kind of dude, but I hope it fires him up a bit.

I'm not an Aldridge hater like some here. But that's the damn truth. Kawhi would spend the week working on his game.

Wasn't worth it. Wouldn't take off any of those. Aldridge is fine now but had was bad for too long at the beginning.

    Should've been 2 and 2: Curry/Durant and Leonard/Aldridge.

Say what you will, but Aldridge > Gaymond.

Draymond is also much more deserving than Klay. Yes, he only averages <11 ppg but impacts the game everywhere else, whereas Klay only scores and not even as efficiently as years past.

Klay's in the bottom 10 among SG in assist ratio around the likes of JJ Re and a bunch of trash (I think Re is essentially his peer) but turns the ball over more than most of them. He doesn't rebound well for his position. eFG%/TS% do not jump off the page. PER is middle of the pack.

He's basically been Michael Redd this season with a better 3 point stroke but lesser assist/rebounding/steals metrics. Redd played in the East and made only one ASG for comparative purposes.

Klay doesn't deserve an all-star nod, but I bet it bugs him that 4 Warriors are going and one of them's not him. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets shipped somewhere down the line.
