"Cept he's not over himself yet."
- Pop
It's too early to say this with certainty or conviction, but he might be the 2nd best scorer on the team. Either way, he's more than just a shooter and clearly needs more minutes.
I was a little sad Pop didn't play him 1 second in the 4th tonight.
Same here. And he played respectable D.
Yeah. D tonight was much improved. Also both those misses on the 3s were halfway down. Kid can shoot. Should have been in for that last play at least. I mean he had a 4 point play earlier this game.
Only explanation Bertans didn't come back is that Pop is developing Alzheimer's.
He's not over himself.

You probably have more complete fingers than Davis Bertans, but he's definitely a better shooter than you. http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/spurs/article/Spurs-Bertans-ignores-childhood-issue-that-10894354.php?cmpid=twitter-desktop … via @mySA

Davis Bertans now has the most three-pointers by a Spurs rookie in a season since Kawhi Leonard's 41 in 2011-12. Bertans now has 38 threes.

Impressive![]()
How can he be such a good shooter with 4 and a half fingers. I wondet if he would be even better with all 5 complete.
Not really..the index and middle finger are most important with the middle finger being last thing touching the ball as it leaves your hand
too much chucking tonight tbh
His first two shots were beautiful. I'm glad he isn't scared to shoot.
This is his first season in the NBA. I don't want to see him hit the freshman wall until after the playoffs. Limited minutes. We know that's he's really good.
Also, I like the fact that he's become a more active body in the offense and not some guy just spacing the floor.
Rookies have to prove things in steps: 1. Do they belong in the league. 2. Do they belong in the rotation. 3. Do they belong in the starting lineup (or 6th man). 4. Could they be the next face of the franchise?
Davis is at step 2.
Other rooks:
Forbes: Trying to get to 1
Murray: 1, showed flashes that he could be 4 someday. He's knocking on the door of 2 presently.
Kawhi got to 3 his rookie year and was 4 by his second year.
TD was a 4 on draft day.![]()
TD was a 5 on draft day
5. Could they be one of the GOATs?

Nuggets' Malone on Bertans: "You look at him and think he is Matt Bonner, but he is not Matt Bonner. They have a of a young player."
Dude is implying he doesnt suck.![]()
Matt Bonner should never have been on the Spurs for as long as he was. Everyone says he was a terrific guy and that may be so, but being a terrific guy didn't mean he needed to be on the team. If they liked him that much as a person, they could have given him a job in the front office to keep his personality around if he didn't get picked up by another team or chose to leave.
