What would make it better is some logic and reasoning behind how they came up with that number, rather than raw emotion and an utter disregard for historical accuracy. I find it sadly ironic that you--and others of your political leaning--are so liberal (literally and figuratively) with the death count. Your cavalier at ude towards human suffering is duly noted. After all, what are a few million lives, amirite?
I don't blame you, though...you simply have no interest in truly broaching the subject because of how taboo it is. Like you, I was also taught that the Holocaust was the worst thing that ever happened in the history of mankind--even mentioning the word puts people in a JIDF mode they never knew they had. You can't in good conscience evaluate the Holocaust until you extract yourself emotionally from it.
The deed itself is not a conspiracy (although some right-wing nuts would say otherwise)--the number is. It's a case of piggyback victimization, and a certain people love to play the victim as we all know. The logistics of it don't add up at all, and this is without taking into consideration the old/rehashed photos, double-booking, etc.

The Allies gathered all the records they could find and while the Prague records were burnt they were able to piece together most everything from SS and Gestapo office across Europe. That is where the numbers come from. I get that you want to wave your hands at pre war things and act like that is the source but that is horse .
