But who's he going to play next to? I'd rather run what they already have than do Lawson/Mills.
I'd love to pick up Jones, but he'd get even fewer minutes than he would in NO. With a one-year min, literally any team could trade for him. Who needs a PF?

Me, too, but I don't see the need... unfortunately.
I wanted him in the offseason but not now. That ship has sailed and the frontline is pretty much stacked.
Boston.
Dubs could use him tbh. Less wear and tear for Durant at the 4 and it cuts West out of the rotation altogether.
Lawson has been done for years now.
I rather roll with Murray instead of trade for Lawson.
Well unfortunately IMO the actual skill of initiating offense is more important than size at this point since beggars can't be choosers.
Meaning I would rather have Ty's skillset (in the event of either TP/Manu getting hurt) than Simmons due to size. Maybe if you think Murray is best then I can see that, but to me that is not a given this year.

@wojtek: Spurs plan to stash Ajnemkoporin in Europe for a couple of seasons
Buddy is one, they sent a 1St and some people are reporting another first. Buddy is still a lottery rookie with plenty of room to grow.
2 1St alone still merits the same points.
Like I said, "if" it works out its a good deal for them. If he leaves, it means the trade was for nothing and they mortgaged their future.
It's really not a difficult concept. If he walks, it's a bad deal. No ifs about that part.
Right now, his agent is set on testing the market so it's definitely a risky move.
The moment that Boogie found out that he was traded

Is there any notable reason for this move yet?
Lawson hasn't been great, and sample size is small with Murray, but Ty has graded out better this year than Murray.
That's awesome.![]()
that is great.
Graded out by who?
Lawson would be a Damon Stoudamire type of pick up (when Spurs signed him late in 2008). Unnecessary inefficient O and playmaking, terrible D.
Murray > Lawson. Trading for a 4th PG is the last thing they need, imo. Would rather roll with Murray and keep Forbes' cheap deal.
By pretty much all advanced metrics..
Spurs need guard help period. With how TP/Manu have played overall and potential for injury they need guard depth. Ty is super cheap so that is not an issue.
I'm looking for low cost moves that provide nba level ball-handling.
When it matters, TY would never play. So whats the point?
He wouldn't play over Tony, wouldn't play over Mills and wouldn't play over Manu or Simmons. I wouldn't trade Forbes for a mop up duty 2 month rental/another Andre Miller.
Like Chinook said, you would not have to trade Forbes. His salary is so low you could cut Anthony and just trade a protected 2nd round pick for him.
He wouldn't ever play though when it matters. Just because he's a good ball handler doesn't make him a net positive over Patty, Manu, Simmons, Green, Murray. Yes, Spurs could use more ball handling, but there's more to the game to consider the addition to the rotation.imo
That is amazing.![]()
Okay this makes you wonder. Pelicans traded basically trash for the best center in the league. Why can't our front office negotiate like that?
