Hopefully it's not this years 1st, tbh
Cubes still on tilt over Trump getting elected, #stillasshurt![]()
So not this year.
Well, that helps I guess. Did they really prefer Noel over Okafor? While everyone else plays checkers, Cuban and Donnie are playing "fumble with your own s".
Well seems like a lot at a glance for a big not heavy in Sixers rotation but RC seems to be better at developing reclamation projects than rookies...he is like a younger bogut with less passing. Sixers get another first a mentor for Embid? Plus a replacement when his knee is iffy?
Probably not ...but who knows?!
I'd be surprised if they keep Bogut tbh
Okafor gives you a lot of the same as Barnes iso from low and mid to high post ....maybe they wanted defense instead oak aforementioned is,the much better post player but Noel is a defender
Noel is a poor man's Deandre Jordan, while Okafor has star potential still. Noel is safer, but way lower ceiling. Would rather see them swing for the fences instead of taking a walk.
The pick is the only thing that hurts imo tbh...I'm not high on Noel but I think RC can maybe get more out of him than he'd ever get out of Anderson
I'm ok with it. I've sat through 15 years of mostly stiffs at the position so anytime we get an athletic, shot blocking center it's atleast more fun to watch.
With the pick being protected, this trade doesn't look that bad. Am I missing something, 'b1k? Or should we have gone after Okafor instead?
Remember when you preffered Jefferson over Chandler? Maybe this is the same case, tbh. I don't see Okafor being anything special in the future.
Also the fact that his contract is up at the end of the season kinda sucks because he'll command a load and if we don't pay him we will have traded a pick for nothing
I think he's restricted tbh
Yeah he is but teams are probably gonna throw cash at him. How much its really gonna depend on how he performs the rest of the season I guess
Special and star are probably stretches I think oak can be effective in right system ...his post game is smooth... that pnr defense is atrocious though

How long is the protection on the pick though? Because a core of Barnes + Noel + Matthews ain't getting them to the playoffs.
I think it's gone next season, so Dallas needs to tank hard now tbh. Time for Barnes to have a 3 month hamstring injury. And for Dirk to pad his career points total by taking 20 shots a night.
The only chance a guy like Okafor has of being "effective" is if he reaches all-star level. Mediocre/just good ofensive minded bigmen, with poor defense, don't make for effective pieces on winning teams, tbh.
That's an awful trade then. Noel's a nice player but one year of lottery protection for a guy Philly didn't even want and who is going to be seeking a max contract is way too steep a price. I hope Dallas negotiated three years of protection on that pick and it just hasn't been reported, because anything more than a mid first rounder is way too much to spend.
