Dejonte Murray time

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker took another hard shot to the knee in the first half of the team's 119-98 win Sunday over the Los Angeles Lakers, and although he finished the game, there's a chance that knee could swell and force him to miss some time. Parker is expecting it to swell up. Here's what he said: "Yeah, I got kneed in the knee. So, that will be a big one. It'll be a little baseball tomorrow. So, we'll see. We've got a couple of days before next game. But if it's still hurting, I'm not gonna take any risks being with Pop. We'll see. We'll go day by day. But my 16 years of experience tells me it's going to be a big one. But hopefully, those 48 hours will help and I'll be O.K. for the next game."
Thanks for the news. Experience tells him it's going to swell. Good for Dijon to get playing time.
no knee pad for injured knee? WTF not?
Sit him out for the rest of the season, tbh.
how often do you see nba guards wear pads?
Outside of Kobe, I can't remember another guy that talked so much about his injuries, tbh... unfortunately that knee is going to have a bullseye now when the playoffs roll around. Heck, no-skill thugs like Raymond Green and Tony Allen might kick him before the season is over...
Hopefully Patty remembers he's on a contract year, tbh...
I totally agree. Don't want to aggravate an injury to our superstar point guard. Shut him down.
Man this team is so unlucky. We are older so its to be expected but we get the biggest bs injuries so consistently. TP has been really good the past 2 games and it would suck to have him miss time. Spurs need a to find consistency and it's impossible with all the injuries all the time.
Old players get injured easier and for longer. Who could have tonk dat?![]()
Could have happened at a worse time, tbh. Spurs don't play again until Wednesday, and the immediate schedule is fairly soft.
I've been wondering for the past couple of days if Pop should consider resting Parker for some playoff games. Time off makes a bigger difference in 2017 Parker than any other player I've seen in my years of watching Spurs basketball. As utterly ridiculous as it feels even thinking suggesting it, it might be better to have to play a team like OKC six games while resting Tony for three than four games while playing him four. I don't know. Beating GS is going to take some anime happening.
As long as someone goes "Fist of the North Star" on Draymond's head, I'll be happy, tbh
I know Westbrook and Rose do.
if dejounte performs well again, there's no excuse for him not being firmly in the rotation

.. when knees are damaged, history of problems
Dedmon/Gasol
Aldridge/Lee
Leonard/Simmons
Green/Murray
Parker/Mills
Sucks he got hurt. He was playing like the best guard on the team (per par since he got drafted)
Kyle Anderson's whole life has been leading up to that one moment.

hopefully he's fine to play Wednesday. We need all of our rotation players healthy down the stretch to get some chemistry going. Especially w/Pop seemingly keeping Dedmon in the SL.
Let Tony take all the time he needs to get his knee healthy. Getting Murray some additional game experience will be great for the team and for his growth in the long run.
