Yesterday's Dream Team losing to college players
If I didn't know any better, I would have thought we've been talking about this for a few posts now.

Chuck Daly made someone erase the scoreboard before the media entered the gym so the players' egos wouldn't get bruised by having to answer any tough questions.
Because he got his point across.

    Yesterday's NBA

    What flak did they get?
    What flak did Lebron get?

Yesterday's NBA: so "great," even a college team can beat them!
Missing the point of team work.

Kobe is a product of yesterday's NBA, so it's not a surprise that he got shat on by some random Chinese kids, tbh.
Kobe tried to portray that, but he benefits hugely from the rule changes (see his gigantic jump in stats in 01-02 when the rules changed in favour of perimeter players. he is squarely the product of today's soft NBA. Don't toss this turd over on our side and try to paint him as the old guard when he's squarely in the new guard era.

Hurley actually was known for his speed when he entered the league. Thing is, he got into a severe car accident early on in his rookie season that almost killed him, and he was never the same after that.
Might get HarlemHeat37 here to confirm that we are talking about a White American player getting known for speed.

No, he just had a favorable matchup against yesterday's NBA stars.
Like home Patty Mills scored 30 on the 16 MOBT? jokic putting up 25/6 on them in a close game? How about De Colo and Huertel hanging 18?

No, because he knew yesterday's NBA stars were pussies and he didn't want them to get their precious fee-fees hurt.

    What flak did Lebron get?
He got vilified for that whole episode. The proof is in how you a.) still remembered it years later, and b.) awkwardly tried to force it into this conversation just to get a dig in at LeBron.

Kobe entered the league in 1996 and played in the '90s NBA. He was the typical fake-tough, selfish isoball chucker that yesterday's NBA fans love. That turd belongs on your sidePERIOD

He was the rare white American player with non-white American skills. Kind of like Jason Williams in his prime.

Those are professional players and grown-ass men, not college players. MVPatty has been a key cog on a championship team and Jokić is a budding star in the NBA. And they all come from Australia or Europe, where the level of play and instruction has improved by leaps and bounds since the '90s.

What Bobby Hurley did to the '92 Dream Team is more like if someone along the lines of Frank Mason or Aaron Craft took a wet all over the '08 Redeem Team.

why did bobby hurley not last in the NBA?
I already explained earlier in the thread, tbh. He got in a gruesome car crash early on in his rookie year that almost killed him. His lungs were punctured, five of his ribs were broken, he had a small fracture in his back, and tore his ACL as a result of the crash. He tried to make a comeback and played for a few more years, but he was never the same.

As much as I'm an old school NBA guy, that whole Daly threw the game thing is ridiculous. They say that because the dude is dead and want to make him look like a genius.

It's a line of bull that Rat Face Krzyzewski made up to make himself look better than Daly. The players themselves admitted they couldn't guard Hurley or Webber and that they were overpassing and afraid to shoot.

I guess he should have sent his agent or marketing agency to erase the board. Then it would be considered an alpha move by you.

He got vilified for that whole episode. The proof is in how you a.) still remembered it years later, and b.) awkwardly tried to force it into this conversation just to get a dig in at LeBron.
Wow, I had that much sway? I guess you and the entire Today's NBA krew remembering the Dream Team thing, with a book mentioning the incident, isn't really flak by your standards then?

Missing the point of NBA players vs. college kids.
Yeah, college kids actually knew how to play the game back then because they go through a program, not like how #1 picks like KAT, Simmons are considered projects when entering the league in Today's NBA.

Kobe entered the league in 1996 and played in the '90s NBA. He was the typical fake-tough, selfish isoball chucker that yesterday's NBA fans love. That turd belongs on your sidePERIOD
I am not taking this turd. He rose to prominence in the 00s and was still winning championships as a coattail rider in the 10s, all BECAUSE he played in today's NBA. Duncan though is yesterday's NBA. He dominated from the get go, and was still contributing immensely in :today's NBA.

Summary, Kobe was a nobody in the 90s because he couldn't hang, and can only play in the 00s
    Duncan dominated end to end.

He was the rare white American player with non-white American skills. Kind of like Jason Williams in his prime.
Jason Williams The guy sucked, was all showboating, and is a product of today's NBA. All flash and no skill

Incorrect, Bobby Hurley, unhurt, and Chris Webber would have been MVP in today's NBA.
